Yes it is very normal that you sufer from asthma when you have a cold and cough. These will trigger asthma moree. So knowing the problem you have to take care that especially when the weather is changing and it is a time to easily catch a
cold be on your alert to prevent it. Otherwise it is good to have an attack after a year. Many things could help to have the attacks and the best thing is to try to get to know what does does you wrong, like dust, pollen, flowers and so many other other things. Be on the alert.

I believe that with asthma anything may trigger it and it differs from person to person. My triggers are too much exercise, cool evenings/nights and some cleaning chemicals.
My asthma started in 1989 and comes and goes with no warning. But I have had 3-4 really bad attacks when I thought this was IT--I would never be able to breathe again. It started when I was 49 and now, 17 years later, I am still here!

This is very normal. You appear to have "mild intermittent asthma." In other words, you thankfully don't have to deal with symptoms every day. Between attacks, your lungs probably function completely normally and there is no outward sign of asthma.
A lot of people have intermittent asthma. Asthma never actually goes away; it basically is a condition that lies beneath the surface and can be triggered by any number of things. In your case, viruses appear to be the main trigger.
Be sure to see a doctor about this if you haven't already. He or she can prescribe to you an inhaler for you to use when you feel a cold coming on, which should improve your symptoms.

Yes, your asthma symptoms can be triggered by colds and allergies. I might suggest that you try using an over-the-counter antihistamine during your 4 month periods and see if that doesn't relieve some of the trigger.

I started having asthma attacks at 67 years old, violent ones. My wife started having them at 70 years old. My grand daughters at eight months, the doctor says babies don't get asthma but, can't explain this to us.
I don't know, it's a mystery. I've seen teen agers get it in their teen years. I've seen them suddenly stop. I guess we'll never really never know.

it is very normal for a chest cold to trigger ashma. It is all tied in to respitory problems. You are very lucky if you can go a year without having an attact. Know what triggers your ashma and be prepared at all times with your medication as a precaution. It is best to have the meds and not need them than to need the meds and not have them. Talk to your Dr. if you are having problems. Good luck!!!!!
