My guess is that she is simply because it wouldn't be very dramatic for everything to work perfectly and give everyone, especially Betty, a happy ending. This is also why I believe that Charlie really is carrying Henry's baby, simply to show that things don't always work out the way you want them to. :(
Either way, I can't wait for the next season!

OK, maybe not Mark but there may be a Very Special Episode of Ugly Betty when Maury Povich guest stars and runs DNA testing on a variety of Baby-Daddy candidates.
