Conservative Christians have done a good job of getting their agendas out, and these include patriotism, and social views aligned with the right.
By no means is it the only way to be a Christian, nor is conservative Christianity the only way people are brought to the political Right.
It's just that this one group is winning a PR war right now.

Firstly, to caucasian_monkey:
Any true Christian does NOT think Muslims, homosexuals, etc etc are evil. Far from it! I know that many, many people get confused, and say/do the wrong things, which only muddles the message of the Gospel.
We are called to love ALL of our fellow human beings. However!! We do NOT have to love their lifestyles! Think about this. Since we believe that you must accept Jesus Christ to be saved and escape eternal punishment, it would be better proof of our hate if we LET people continue living in sin or living without at least having heard the Gospel message! If we are tolerant, we are essentially damning all the unsaved people to Hell! How loving is that? Not at all.
I believe that we must love all people, just as God does. But we can't let them drown in a pit of sin, that would simply be cruel. You've probably heard the saying "Love the sinner, hate the sin." Well, that's the way we are (at least strive to be). As I said, it doesn't always come across properly - wherever there are humans, there will be mistakes and problems.
And now... on to the original question...
Being a Christian doesn't mean you are a Republican. It's just that usually, Republicans are more inclined to agree with most Christians' views. This does NOT mean that a Christian should blindly vote only for Republicans without doing their research!
You can have whatever political beliefs you want, but it's my belief that a Christian who studied and lived by the Bible would tend to agree more with conservative ideas than socialist ideas. Please don't take offense at anything I say, I'm not trying to hurt anyone's feelings.

Which war?
I don't know who decided they were associated. Probably the same people who think that all Christians are Southern, backwoods hicks.
However, fiscally I identify with the Democrats, though I'm more of a Republican socially. I am socially conservative, fiscally a little liberal.
And I'm not for the war (assuming we're talking about Iraq) or against it. I've heard both good things AND bad things straight from soldiers who have been there. I don't believe the public is aware of anything more than what the news media tells us, and the fact of the matter is, the news media doesn't tell us everything.

The political right being Christian territory is a matter of the political parties publicly stating their positions with the right most coinciding with Christian values. It is not a church party, but it is the one Christian politicians would enter because of its history.
I hate wars. Yes, hate. But I must support this one for it is in defense of our country, other countries, and oppressed people. It is driven by an ideology that has sworn to eliminate from the face of the earth every person who does not subscribe to that ideology.
They won't stop. They keep attacking and attacking. Even if we pack up and go home they will continue attacking. The drive to do so comes from their hearts, fueled by the words and finances of a very few leaders. The only way we could possibly stop them is to do the unthinkable.
All they have to do is stop. The solution is that simple. Just stop. That one act would allow them to see the true nature of the Christians they so despise.

As a christian you aren't obligated either way. Some Christians may support the war because in the bible it says that whoever blesses Israel will be blessed (I think that it fundamentally comes down to the Islam/Christian/Jew thing). So they think that if they support the war they are supporting Israel. You just need to make sure that you thoroughly agree with all of your party's policies and make sure they add up to your faith even the party you support now. Essentially it is the responsibility for all Christians to pray for peace. I think many Christians are "Right Winged" because those parties are more conservative wanting to keep the Bible in schools etc, and promoting more biblical morals, however, no one is perfect. It says in the bible that we won't be until Jesus gets back.

Probably because the political right pandered to the Christians for their votes, claimed to support the same causes they did, and get seen walking into a church once in a while.
I am Christian, but refrain from all political anything, and do not believe in war.

First, you just stereotyped all Christians and then said you don't fit into that stereotype. So, before I answer I will point out to you that you should have used words like "most Christians" or "a lot of Christians" or "some Christians" when you asked this.
Second, "many" Christians are like that because they are in bed with the republican party and the republican party is in bed with them. One hand washes the others back.I don't think it has anything to do with the "love" or "peace" or "charity" that Jesus taught.

Christians want to overthrow dictators that harm their people.
Gassing people, raping wives and daughters, it really doesn't bide well with them . Liberals are all about human rights...so no matter how evil they are, you should not have the right to get involved. I'm sure there are angry American feminists that hate this administration but just knowing that even one girl or woman will not be raped or hurt tonight because of a regime change makes that more important to me. Isn't that what god would want ?

I don't like the idea of the wars either that are happening, but you have to realize one thing, this is in all of Gods plan in the end times. It is in the bible wars and rumors of wars will be happening when he returns. Isn't it just exciting God is coming back for his people. Praise God !

the bible says some things about SOME political issues. an issue the bible most definitely “takes sides” on is abortion. also, gay marriage. no matter who is in office, whether we voted for them or not, whether they are of the political party we prefer or not – the bible commands us to respect and honor them: 1 Peter 2:13-17; Romans 13:1-7
as believers in Jesus Christ, we are all members of the same political party – monarchists who are waiting for their king to return
