My husband and I are flying to a friend's wedding to Milan.
He is a top manager of a big company, as well as my husband is.
The wedding is day formal.
I have no idea how much we have to spend on the wedding present.
They have a wedding registry, and I found a nice stockpot with a lid for a total of 195 dollars (145 euro)
Do you think that is enough? Is it enough for both of us (me and husband) or should we pay more since we come to the wedding together?

We live in Moscow now, so we have to fly over to Milan.
We decided to combine it with our vacation :)

Think of all the people who are going to be there and all the gifts they'll receive. I assure you a stockpot is good enough and they won't expect too much. They'll be grateful for what you get them. Do whatever you feel is comfortable. If you want to get them something else that's cheaper along with the stockpot, go right ahead. But don't feel pressured into doing something you don't want to do. They invited you as a couple, not individually, so it's totally acceptable to give them a gift that's from both of you.

It doesn't matter how much you spend! Weddings are not just about the gifts. Couples register for things that they want or hope to get. If you chose something off of the registry, then they will love it because they wanted it, no matter the price. I tend to spend more on family then friends, as does everyone in my family. I have pretty wealthy aunts and uncles and they gave my husband and I $100 per family. Spending $195 on something they want is more then enough, especially since you will be paying to airline tickets also!

You don't say where you live, but I would think the pot would be enough since you are flying to the wedding, getting a hotel. All of those expenses add up too. Maybe just make it easier and buy a $200 gift card.

I think that's plenty, I guess it really depends on how much that is worth in the country which the couple who are getting married in is.

But that is enough for the both of you. Plus remember they've probably invited many guests so your present will just be one of many. They won't worry about it too much.

Your present is well within acceptable price to pay for that sort of thing. I think as long as its within $100-$500 its fine. Unless you're the parents... tht's when the big guns come out.

Well don't forget that you are flying to another continent for this wedding which can't be cheap. If you can afford to spend more than go ahead, $200 should be sufficient.

Are they registered anwhere? That may be easier.

You have selected something very nice from their registry, so of course they will be happy to receive the stock pot. That is a very nice wedding gift from both of you.

250 TO 300 $ WOULD BE JUST RIGHT. MY RULE OF THUMB IS, WOULD I LIKE THIS GIFT GIVEN TO ME ? IF NOT, I DON'T GIVE IT TO ANYONE ELSE.
