Like everyone has said, watch or read something funny and just picture the camera crew and actors sitting in their trailers reading the scripts see that it's all just fantasy and entertainment.
Actually, this might sound totally antithetical to getting over the anxiety but it helps me. Picture the scary stuff and pretend to explain it to an alien who does not know the meaning of human fear. Impart your own story into the scenes. If there were murderers or monsters or demons in the movies, picture them as being able to talk to you and have them ask you: "Why do I scare you so much?". The point of the exercise is to remove yourself from the hysterical feeling of powerlessness and rationally question the notion of fear-- where does it come from and what is its purpose in our lives? And most importantly, how much power do we choose to give it? When you open a dialog with the "boogeyman" inside, the fear often turns into curiousity, which turns to knowledge, which becomes strength. Being scared is a natural instinct and when you can engage your fears and put your own personal and sacred "face" to each one, you become empowered and able to tackle those fears head on.

Fear is one of the things that can disturb your sleep and feel the most intense in the night.
Remedy - Take a few minutes to stimulate each one of your senses in a positive manner. Sound, Sight, Taste, Smell, Touch. Start by washing your hands and face in cold water, find a picture or plant or pet to watch and think about. Have something pleasant to eat, like ice cream. Listen for pleasant sounds - maybe the drip of a faucet, the wind in your face, or gentle music. Smell something like a lemon or a flower - if you can't think of anything else, sniff the aroma of your shampoo or light a candle. Touch can be a strong sensation, if you have a pet, stroke its fur, crawl on your hands and knees across your carpet or outside on the grass. Feel sand beneath your feet, or soap bubbles up to your elbows. Then, with a light on, wrap-up in your favorite blanket and watch something pleasant or silly on TV - fall asleep with the TV on, sleeping on the couch or the floor.
If you are still terrified, open your Bible at the center, read Psalms or Proverbs - see how what you are reading identifies with what you are feeling -- and pray. This can be very calming and also give you something different to think about that is therapeutic. If you memorize a few phrases, you can think of those in the place of your fears, each time they arise.

buy one of those night lights, so you dont imagine something is there hiding in the dark and watch some light hearted comedy's and cartoons that you like. If it gets worse try speaking to a counselor. If it makes you feel any better i have graphic nightmares each night, or the surrounded by snakes dreams or falling from buildings dreams every night. I am coming off speed and marijuana and i wish i could stay awake constantly cause im scared of going to sleep cause of my dreams. hope you are o.k.

It probably won't help shake the scare, but for insomnia I reccommend warm milk (half a minute in the microwave will probably do). There's a scientific reason involving amino acids, but it s a good natural sedative.
Also, for calming the mind, I reccomend reading a book. Probably not a horror though.
Drink your milk, settle into bed with your book and you'll be drowsy in no time.

1. Picture how ridiculous it would be for the things in the movie to happen in your room. Think about how unlogical the movie is.
2. Ask your mum/sister/anyone in your house to sleep with you
3. Go to your friend's house for a sleepover
4. Turn on all the lights in your house, listen to loud music, trun on the TV and MAKE IT LOUD

i replaced into having alot of stress earlier snoozing and could desire to no longer nod off. Had many many sleepless nights. i replaced into purely fiddling with this gadget one afternoon and had to take heed to the power Nap song. next ingredient I knew i replaced into waking up! Fell precise asleep without attempting. After utilising the Fall Asleep song, i could desire to nod off precise away. yet i did no longer comprehend that I should not be utilising that one all night. Switched to entire night and characteristic been utilising it ever on account that. i will pass to sleep conveniently now. I purely lay and hear the sounds and next ingredient i recognize i'm waking up from a advantageous sleep. i don't be afflicted by loss of sleep anymore. I keep an IPod with earbuds next to my mattress and take it constantly while traveling. The earbuds help block out ambient noise and the sleep tracks keep me snoozing sound :) Reboot your innovations & sleep soundly back?

Be close to someone, like a parent or a sibling. Hold onto a pet if you have one. Think about what you did that day. Or just think of stuff that is really really funny, stuff that your friends might have done. Usually I just pray when I am scared. It has never failed to comfort me.

That's cute. Just realize no matter how scared you are, that doesn't change the fact that it is VERY unlikely that you are unsafe right now. Why, of ALL the homes in your state, even nation, would yours be the one that is in danger?
Also, picture where you are right now- well that is the EXACT same place where it is when it is light- and you aren't afraid when it is light out, right?

Just imagine the cameras and camera men behind them and that it's just acting. Just like a home movie, not real at all and you really know that is true.
Call a friend and talk about something funny.
