I have to go to my ex's house to get my stuff back and him and his mom are going to be mean to me and call me a whore and other things but I don't know what to do. I want to keep it civil.

Be all sweetness and light. Ignore all the insults and harsh words. Just act like you don't even hear them.

Then when you have your stuff and are walking out the door, just smile and say, "If you really think I'm such a whore, what does that make you? Better go to the doctor and get a check up. I'll be sending you a bill for the treatment I needed." Then leave him fuming and wondering if you are serious.

Have someone supportive go with you. As in a parent or close friend. If you dont have anyone you could get someone from the Police to go with you. I know that may sound drastic but it is better to feel secure in situations like this one. And if they say or do anything you have a witness.

Smile sweetly and say nothing. The best revenge is to show that you were raised with class! Any person that would call another person names like that has NO CLASS!You have to ignore it. If you think it's necessary, call local law enforcement and explain the situation. They will be happy to send an officer with you to retrieve your belongings. I guarantee neither him, nor his mother, will have much to say when some cat with a badge and a gun shows up on their doorstep!

Just remember that you are getting him and his mother out of your life, hang onto your dignity (and your tongue) and just leave - with your stuff - and dignity intact. Better than lowering yourself to their level.
Or tell him the truth. If you're a whore then he is both the John and the Pimp, cause he made you that.

If you're truly afraid that things could get violent you could call your local police department and have an officer meet you there to ensure nothing happens.
One of my good friends had to do that when he went through a rough break-up.

Don't take the bait. You know you're not a whore, so don't worry about. It's their problem. Also, you might want to take someone with you to help you stay calm.

Get a friend that's at least three inches taller than your ex(And able to kick his butt) to accompany you. Your ex wouldn't want to get his *** kicked in front of his momma, now, would he?

I would smile, say thank you and walk away. that way you are giving them the opposit reaction to what they were expecting.

Say "It takes one to know one". If not that then I would not say anything. Silence is deadly. It bothers more people than you think.
