I am just curious... i sometimes see small groups of women, always accompanied by a man, who wear handkercheif type scarfs on their heads, have long hair and wear long conservative type skirts. I mostly see them at shopping centres. I'm just wondering who they are. Are they part of a religious community that says they have to dress that way? (by the way, i'm not talking about muslim women).

Do they wear peasant-type clothings with the man who accompanies them dressed in an almost black suit? I usually see them in shopping-malls too. Are u in Canada? I see alot them here in Canada. I was wondering if they were Hutterites or Mennonites, but they seem alot more modernized in their approach to the "modern" society. I can't really put my finger on their religion but most of them also don't seem to speak English. I wish I knew who they were.

Most likely Mennonites. They are similar to the Amish, but not as strictly rejecting of modern technology, hence you see them at the store, having got there in a car. The Amish only use horse drawn transport, so you don't see them as much, except where there are larger concentrations of them, such as shipshewana in northern Indiana.

Mennonites, Hutterites and any born again bible believing Christian women who are going to church or prayer or to witness. I wear that type of clothing most of the time except I only wear my covering when I am praying in public or witnessing or at any other Christian fellowship.

Bible interested in shaving the heads of all Christian women because they do not cover head. Why Christianity is so curel to women??? I am happy to be a muslim and Islam respect women not shave their heads!!!!!!

They are either Orthodox Jews.or elderly women who still dress like in the old days in Eastern Europe (due to cold weather)
