That's a pretty broad question to ask regarding the war. Ethics & Social Justice...are you concerned or discussing the ethics & justice of Saddam's government, his invasion of Kuwait, the rape rooms, the gassing of the Kurds.

Are you going to discuss how Saddam's military justified murdering their own troops when they attempted to surrender or fled when faced by destruction by the coalition forces?

And key to any discussion to current ethics and social justice must include...
1. There is no organized, identifiable (wearing uniforms) Army fighting the Iraq and US forces.
2. The insurgents rely on terrorism, IEDs
3. The insurgents attack and kill civilians and disrupt and prevent free elections.

I spent 18 months in Iraq and I am returning next month to work there for at least another year. The country and the people need a lot of help.

3414+ have died in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom

Every year, the Army, by itself, must recruit 180,000 people to sustain itself. The "target" group is the 18-25 age group, both male and female, and only 30% of those people are even close to being physically fit enough for military service. Of those same 30%, you have 4 other branches of the military trying to recruit them and thousands of colleges looking at the same demographic. This is why we now have 15 month tours of duty.

Improvised Explosive Devices, IEDs, or roadside bombs are the biggest threat to the troops.

This is a war full of debate and lots of opinion. The basic facts are Oil and profits. We need oil and they have it and if we can institute a friendly government that will sell it to us then we will have it. I will say this, anyone suggesting that you will find answers by just reading the paper is indeed a dumb a-s-s themself.
