So if I am understanding this correctly, you have a volunteer and/or charity website and you would like to know how to improve it? Here are my suggestions:

1. Make donating as EASY as possible. Make sure you are set up for credit/debit cards, electronic checks, paypal, and snail mail donations. The easier it is for people to make a few clicks and donate, the more donations you will receive.

2. Advertise! Try to get other sites (usually other charity sites) to put links to your page on them. Use things like blogs, myspace and other communities to advertise your website. You should also look into advertising your webpage on non-internet sources. Contact local charities, ask them to hang up a flyer on their bulletin board with information about your site. Contact local free newspapers (a lot of churches have newspapers) and get your site listed there. Contact the media (all forms) and get them to advertise your site for you.

3. Link with National Established Charities. If you have a local charity, link it with a national charity that is doing the same kind of work.

Good luck and I hope these helped!
