On my caller id sometimes when the name and number is blocked it says "restricted" and other times it will say caller id "unavailble." What's the difference? Is there a way to unblock those calls? The only thing I can think of is maybe the restricted ones are calls made from a landline and the unavailble calls are blocked calls made from cell phones? Not sure, maybe someone can help me out with this one.

I think it has more to do with how the call was made, and if the person chose to have it restricted or if it was done automatically. For example, if someone has an unlisted number, it would be "Restricted", because it would be done on purpose. If a person calls by using 411 and being automatically transferred, caller id won't recognise the number (caller id unavailable), since the actual call was placed through Information. Some payphones and phones in large offices where people have extentions but no direct lines also automatically block the number.

Restricted you can put on the number
Blocked is usually from a large company or trunk line that will not release the number to the caller.
