Because we are all self-centered beings.
Cheers ; )
Later edit: I did not see the rest of your question, I am not Seventh Day Adventist, so I believe the sabbath is Sunday. In Genesis He created the earth and on the 7th day He rested. Monday starts the new work week for most, thus making Sunday the last day of the week. I believe though that it does not matter Saturday, Sunday whatever, as long as one day a week is reserved for rest and worship. As long as you believe and live by the important details, (Jesus is the Savior), the other details like what day sabbath is or what denomination you are is immaterial.

The New Testament makes it clear that the observance of a particular day was not imposed as a binding obligation. Romans 14:5-6 makes it clear that there was some freedom in the matter of special days. Colossians 2:16-17 commanded the church not to allow anyone to act as their judge in regard to sabbath days. And Galatians 4:9-10 warns against going back under the Law by insisting on the legal requirement of special days.
The records that remain in the New Testament show that the first day of the week soon became a day of worship. When Paul wanted to collect an offering from the church at Corinth, he asked them to gather the money on the "first day of the week" (1 Cor. 16:2). And when he wanted to meet with the believers at Troas, the gathering took place "on the first day of the week, when we were gathered together to break bread" (Acts 20:7).
New Testament believers are not under the Old Testament Law (Romans 6:14; Galatians 3:24-25; 2 Corinthians 3:7, 11, 13; Hebrews 7:12).
By Christ's resurrection on the first day of the week (Matthew 28:1), His continued appearances on succeeding Sundays (John 20:26), and the descent of the Holy Spirit on Sunday (Acts 2:1), the early church was given the pattern of Sunday worship.
The early church met on Sunday regularly (Acts 20:7; 1 Corinthians 16:2).
Sunday worship was further hallowed by our Lord who appeared to John in that last great vision on "the Lord's day" (Revelation 1:10).
It is for these reasons that most Christians worship on Sunday, rather than on the Jewish Sabbath.
In Revelation 1:10, the apostle John described himself as being "in the Spirit on the Lord's Day." Most writers have thought he was referring to Sunday, so that our use of "the Lord's Day" as a term for Sunday comes from this verse.

Keep digging Christopher.there are many things that so-called Christians do that really isn't all that Christian. But it is important to learn what is important and what isn't. I myself know that tha sabbath is Saturday but I worship on Sunday because they nearest church I've found that is close to what I believe is 35 min. away and meets on
Sunday. But the important thing about the Sabbath is to know that Christ is our sabbath.

Worship on Saturday was a Jewish law for worship for Jewish people and Jesus is Jewish. Because Jesus came to fulfill the law, He gives us freedom and if you will read in the book of Acts, the people came and worshiped daily. Every day is the Lord's Day not just the Sabbath. Acts 2:42-47.
The manor that God prescribes is that He wants us to worship Him in spirit and in truth. And to pray in the spirit at all times.

I am sure that keeping sabath Holy is a commandment from God and it is a blessing to us. Once when Jesus did a healing on sabath, the pharisees were mad at him, but Jesus point of view was different, He said if his donkey thirst wont they give it water. So its not the strict rules that matter to God, its more of our heart.
I was born in a protestant family, I have accepted savior and came to know that there are even catholics who walk a Godly life. I have seen 7th day Adventist programs on TV, from Hope Channel, 3ABN. I know there are lot of God's people there. I believe its not the rules, its the heart which has the love for God to obey His commandments as He teaches in our hearts.

No honey! Read Deuterononmy chapter 5 verse12.
Observe the sabbath day by keeping
it HOLY as the Lord your God has commanded you.
SIX days you shall work, but the SEVENTH day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your sons or daughters. (NIV)
Have a read of the whole verse.

for those who follow your description yes. and it is about the human nature. it is naturally sinful. And we are to be born again, become new creatures in CHRIST, AND let the old things pass away. If we go to the beginning, The Sabbath Day was GOD'S HOLY DAY. but satan wants to imitate all that GOD values,.. so when GOD sets aside a day of worship, satan has to have his own. the day of the sun is a pagan holiday, that was embraced by so called christians. and so the story goes on...

Do you think the perfect God needs to have a reset on Saturday, Sunday or even one second.
It does not matter which day the matter is that you disrespect your God by saying he needed to have a rest

I think Jesus rebuked the Pharisees for not wanting a healing on the Sabbath. I believe He has set us free from the letter of the law.
