My girfriend was drinking a Redbull the other day and got into a discussion with a coworker. the cowroker started saying that he does not smoke, drink, or use caffeine and a few other things because of his religion. i asked my gf what religion it was but she couldn't remember what religion it was.

I know it wasn't mormon which i already read about.

can someone list or mention which ones are against it and i will ask my gf cause i'm really curious about it.

Mormons are not supposed to drink coffee or tea, but we don't know that it's because of the caffeine. We are told that we should use our best judgment on this, but we are DISCOURAGED from drinking caffeinated drinks. But drinking them will not keep you out of the temple.

Well, the Mormon church does not forbid all forms of caffeine. Coffee and tea are not allowed, but it is for reasons beyond the caffeine issue. Soft drinks like Coke, Dr. Pepper, etc are discouraged, but not treated the same way as coffee. It's mainly left to the individual, but is not encouraged in any way.

By the way, Paulo enjoys sharing his bigotry and ignorance of Christian religions other than his own. In no way is adultery and promiscuity allowed in the Mormon church and is one of the things that is strictly forbidden. People are excommunicated for adultery and can be for fornication. I really cannot understand how some like Paulo can call himself a Christian. He does not seems to care about understanding people of other faiths. He just seems to enjoy spewing hate and bigotry. He seems to pick and choose which parts of the Bible he follows and certainly does not follow the spirit of Christ.

Perhaps he forgot :
"Thou shalt not bear false witness..."
"Judge not, that ye be not judged."
"Faith without works is dead."

All of the above is taught in the Old and New Testament. All of the above are things he seems to not live by with his calling other creeds "Satan Spawn" and fornicators and adulterers. Not only does he makes himself look like a fool, but makes a horrible impression for all Christians of the world in the eyes of non-Christians. Shame on him.

Caffeine is a xanthine alkaloid compound that acts as a stimulant in humans. The word comes from the Italian term for coffee, caffè.[1] Caffeine is also called guaranine when found in guarana, mateine when found in mate, and theine when found in tea. It is found in the leaves and beans of the coffee plant, in tea, yerba mate, and guarana berries, the kola nut, the Yaupon Holly, and in small quantities in cocoa. Overall, caffeine is found in the beans, leaves, and fruit of over 60 plants, where it acts as a natural pesticide that paralyzes and kills certain insects feeding on the plants.

Caffeine is a central nervous system (CNS) stimulant, having the effect of temporarily warding off drowsiness and restoring alertness. Beverages containing caffeine, such as coffee, tea, soft drinks and energy drinks enjoy great popularity; caffeine is the world's most widely consumed psychoactive substance, but unlike most other psychoactive substances, it is legal and unregulated in nearly all jurisdictions. In North America, 90% of adults consume caffeine daily.[2] The U.S. Food and Drug Administration lists caffeine as a "Multiple Purpose GRAS Food Substance".
