I recently got a kitten that was only about 6 weeks old, and she still does this at 8 weeks. It seems to generally mean she's hungry or tired. At his age, you should be giving him replacement kitten formula. He should be able to drink it from a shallow bowl or saucer. Try offering him some whenever he cries and see if it helps. If he still cries, try putting him in a dark quiet room (even better if you can lay down with him) and see if he'll take a nap. Kittens are a lot like babies, they'll cry if they need to eat, sleep, or potty. Make sure you monitor his litterbox to make sure he's using the bathroom regularly. Kittens can have a lot of bathroom issues, so it's important you watch that closely.

Other than formula, you can offer room temperature or lightly warmed canned kitten food. You should always leave out a bowl of dry kitten food too, but offer the formula and canned food every couple of hours.

Also, make sure he's confined to one small room with all his food, water, bed, toys, litterbox, etc. Small kittens get scared in big spaces, he might wander around crying because he can't find anyone.

Good luck!

Your new baby kitten misses his mother and also it could be that he is really hungry.....4 to 5 weeks is really way too young for a baby kitten to be away from it's mother so maybe that is why he is fussing so much. Just make sure that you give the kitten alot of attention and let him know how much you love him. I found an 8 week old kitten on my back porch and when i took him to the Vet he was really crying alot. The vet said she misses her mother but eventually it will stop. So try to be patient......when I got her she had so much energy she drove us crazy......she would jump on my male cat's back and ride him like a jockey. It was just so funny....also she thought she was a flying squirrel. She was just bouncing off the walls but like i said she eventually got over it and mellowed right out. So like i said just be very patient with her. Good luck

Oh Boy. This is tough. Sounds like these kittens were removed from Mom way too soon. How and what are you feeding them? There is kitten formula and bottles and nipples for them. This might cure the testicle sucking so the siblings can be together. They keep each other warm and are company for each other too.

He is crying for a reason. When you find the reason, he will stop crying. Good luck.

Your kitten's probably lonely. If you can't be with him when he cries, give him toys or formula. He's still young enough that he should be drinking formula. If you put a towel underneath the formula bowl, the kitten could also knead that as it drinks, replecating what it would do to the mother.

Does you kitten ever try to suck on your fingers? That may be a way of helping you baby cope with how much it misses its mom.

It sounds like he/she is not getting enough to eat. (I don't mean to say you do not feed her) That is still awful young to have been taken away from her mother. If your feeding her dry foods it is probably to hard to eat or hard to digest, try some wet food, just about 1/4 can at a time thru out the day. If this doesn't work try
I know this sounds crazy but see if she will take a baby bottle, make sure you get a very small nipple and don't let her have to much milk all at one time, again a little thought out the day.

He might have been weaned to early. You can buy replacement milk for kittens and that might help. If you haven't already, give him a little crate or box for a den that he can retreat to, which can help create that secure and safe feeling that cats like.

Try beating the crazy thing, a few smacks behind their head and few slaps across well silence them.
