Trans fat is unnatural fat that your body can not get rid of, it just sits there and hurts you.

That commercial is a joke. Trans fats are liquid fats such as soybean oil, processed ("hydrogenated") to make them solid or partly solid. This process makes them even worse for your arteries than cholesterol. All sorts of places are banning trans fats in an effort to reduce obesity.

What KFC isn't telling you in their commercial is that their product still has unhealthily high levels of cholesterol, saturated fat and calories. They are trying to fool you into thinking you are buying healthy food, instead of a fried, breaded meat product that's very high in calories.

Trans fats are considered to be really bad for your heart so many restaurants - especially fast food chains - are feeling pressured to stop using hydrogenated oils.

KFC is trying to get consumers back by making this change. (Never mind about the cholesterol, but that's another story.)

In layman's term, trans fats is what clogs your arteries and gives you a heart attack. As long as you see 'hydrogenated palm oil' or anything hydrogenated related, it contains trans fats. These hydrogenated ingredients added are in food items mainly to prolong their shelf life. So just stay clear of food items that has the words in the ingredient list that says 'hydrogenated', 'partially hydrogenated' and 'shortening'.

Trans fats are fats that are not completely hydrogenated. They result from unsaturated fats that don't quite complete the process to become saturated. They aren't good for you because your body has problems excreting them.

*** in keeping with serving, yet they are allowed 0.5g in keeping with serving and allowed to place 0g So in case you consume 2 servings thats 1g. 4 servings 2g. etc. specific thats criminal. Its so deceiving. OMG NO I study what daskidabad or despite reported above me, NO its no longer counseled to consume trans fat. thats the worst fat that basically approximately without delay clogs arteries. Its counseled to consume ordinary fat. no longer saturated fat, thats undesirable. meaning there is greater fat by way of out. yet universal fat is sweet, you want it to stay to tell the story.
