Most cars have 1-3 gallons of fuel left in the tank. It depends on calibration. This typically means 20-60 miles of travel in terms of fuel.

However because fuel has gunk that accumulates over time, you never want to run the tank all the way down. If the fuel light comes on, it typically means get the car to the gas station immediately before the fuel pump sucks the gunk into the strainer and clogs it, or damages your fuel pump.

Give it a shot and let us know.. jk..

It will actually vary per car (tons of things can effect gas mileage).

You should check the manual to see how big the reserve is, and figure out how many miles to the gallon you typically get..
