where did the stories of pre-jesus, post old testament life come from in the books of the gospel? it's not as if jesus' disciples followed him around his entire life and before. so the gospels according to matthew, mark, luke, and john had to have gotten this info from somewhere. well, matthew anyway. the other three were pretty much their own take on his account of jesus' life, slightly embellished that is. so where did matthew find these stories of jesus' pre-life?

Could it be from Jesus' mother Mary since she was there? It also comes from Divine Revelation from God to the writer.

Most of the other gospels were based upon the works of Mark, who wrote his first. This gospel was not written until 70-90 years after the crucifixion.

Luke was reputed to have been both an artist and a physician. He purportedly painted the first icon of the Blessed Virgin, and knew several stories about the beginning of Jesus life from her.

I do not know if the evangelists knew each other. But they most certainly knew of each other, and were intimate with the story of Christ. For anyone who loves the story of Christ, loves the story of his origin.

There are no pre-Jesus, post-Old Testament books.

Ancestry and lineage was very important to ancient societies; they would all know their lineage.

As for his early life, why do you think we don't have much info about it? And, um, don't you think Matthew and Jesus might have talked?Told stories? Communicated at all in the 3 years they were together in ministry? Don't your friends know some of your childhood stories? They were friends; I think Jesus talked to them like a guy talks to buddies!(Isn't that an awesome thought...sitting around a bonfire swapping stories with Jesus!!!)

You mean his life as a child, and his parents life? Didn't Jesus' mother Mary live with the disciple John? Don't you think that Jesus and/or his mother didn't tell the disciples stories about his life and the life of his family?

Peace be with you, the truth shall make you free.

The spirits of 12 Apostles and John the Baptist where born before the foundation of the world, Revelation 12 tells of them and Jesus.

Their knowledge of who they were did not return to them until after the Spirit of Truth came within them. The story of Abram, Isaac, Jacob and Jacob's 12 sons is the 5th time these events have happened. The 6th time is at hand.

If he was truly Jesus's friend, wouldn't you think he would have heard stories from the family about Jesus's expolits? Think about your family - don't they have stories they tell everyone, no matter how embarrassing?

I can see jesus in a chair, saying "oh mom, don't tell that one" - as she tells the story of his temper in the temple yet again.

its all made up crap, that was written down centuries after the event. Nothing has yet been found that actually was written at the time of the so called Christ.
