Nothing goofy. I mean, like a long quote. By Alexander Pope, or someone like that.

Someone inspirational. Or at least deep.

Any change, any loss, does not make us victims. Others can shake you, surprise you, disappoint you, but they can't prevent you from acting, from taking the situation you're presented with and moving on. No matter where you are in life, no matter what your situation, you can always do something. You always have a choice and the choice can be power.
-Blaine Lee

Engrave this Quote You know a dream is like a river, ever changing as it flows.
And a dreamer's just a vessel that must follow where it goes.
Trying to learn from what's behind you and never knowing what's in store
makes each day a constant battle just to stay between the shores.
And I will sail my vessel 'til the river runs dry.
Like a bird upon the wind, these waters are my sky.
I'll never reach my destination if I never try,
So I will sail my vessel 'til the river runs dry.
Too many times we stand aside and let the water slip away.
To what we put off 'til tomorrow has now become today.
So don't you sit upon the shore and say you're satisfied.
Choose to chance the rapids and dare to dance the tides.
-Garth Brooks

The trouble with so many of us is that we underestimate the power of simplicity. We have a tendency it seems to over complicate our lives and forget what's important and what's not. We tend to mistake movement for achievement. We tend to focus on activities instead of results. And as the pace of life continues to race along in the outside world, we forget that we have the power to control our lives regardless of what's going on outside.
-Robert Stuberg

Respect human talent, respond to genius, recognize reality, admire truth and beauty, realize the meaning of the rare flower Reason.

Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.
-Carl Gustav Jung

I love all of these. Your taste might might not be the same as mine but I hope I helped in some way.

Life-transforming ideas have always come to me through books.

Never judge a book by its movie.

Never read a book through merely because you have begun it.

Whatever we read from intense curiosity gives us a model of how we should always read.

Woe be to him that reads but one book.

This is not a novel to be tossed aside lightly. It should be thrown with great force.

Here's one of my favourite quotes:
"Learning is the product of plain hard work and natural intelligence, and (is) not to be measured necessarily by the approval of superiors or adherence to customs and traditions."

Neither "goofy" nor long, it has inspired me, and will continue to inspire me - whether I am learning or teaching.
