Yes. But there are so many factors why that i couldn't even begin to explain why. I am a socioligist. However, I have never understood why they wait til the VERY LAST MINUTE to write a check/pull their cash out to pay for items etc.... They also seem to be the worst drivers. LET IT BE KNOWN THAT I HOPE THAT I DON"T COME OFF AS A RASISCT >>> However everything I say percentage wise compared to the rest of the population is true. I CAN BACK THIS UP

You can't just stereotype blacks as having a chip on their shoulder. There are people from every race that have a chip on their shoulder. You are probably having a specific problem with blacks because of the way you phrase your words. There are also those who have a lot of mistrust sticking out because of thing that they have been through. It also sounds like you have a chip on your shoulder seeing the tone of the question. If you know much about emotions, then you would know that although it can be something thought of as harmless it is hard to let go of things that may emotionally scar you. Healing from emotional scars can take your entire life. Other chips that people have is from lack of understanding, and some people don't want understanding. If this is something that is bothering you personally then I suggest you spend some time with a black person and slowly help them break apart the chip that is on their shoulder. You don't even have to think twice to know that I am a black person writing this.

A lot of "us" have a chip on our shoulder because of what happened in the past. History has been a bitc# to us and honestly, some of the same injustices are ocurring today. Some people take it a lil too far though. And online forums like this, you get several people who come out and just start throwing racial slurrs, but those same people start smiling and clam up if they see a group of black people. A lot of us are goin' to school and getting our futures together, but some of us are just givin' in to the stereotype. I assume that you are another race. You think we act bad toward you, some of us act worse toward each other and its stupid honestly. But truthfully speaking, we had to overcome alot, we had to survive alot and that gave us tough skin. When you've had it as hard as my people have, you tend to have the mentatlity that you must "fight" for whatever you get, and therefore you dive into every situation with the so called "chip on your shoulder". Their will probably be somebody in here that will throw a racial slurr out there...but if you do, ask yourself this...would is say that to a group of strangers that are black? I seriously doubt it, if you REALLY wanna see a chip on the shoulder, then this is what you do. Just like Miss Heaven said, Indians discovered America, so really, this is their land.

First of all, please don't make a 'general'
assumption . That's like saying that 'whites'
have a chip on their shoulders... and not
everyone has a 'chip' on their shoulders.
As in any race, there are some whom have
not matured enough to obtain the knowledge
of being 'human'...thus the 'chip' continues
to fester into cancer . That's one reason why,
unfortunately,'racism' will never totally die out .

Yes, as every member of the human race upon this planet does at one time or another.
Put yourself in the person's shoe that has a grudge or chip as you put it. Sometimes it is self justified and other times it is induced by the parents, grandparents and siblings feelings of hate or prejudice.
I myself love everyone and I am colorblind and try to understand when someone seems agnostic towards me. Sometimes they have just had a bad day.
God bless you all.

Some definitely do. Some whites, too. Some tans, browns, reds, and yellowish-tans also are sporting large chips.
Here's the thing - when we make too much of pigmentation and believe it divides us into "us" and "them," we make a big mistake. Since we've only had dna testing for a short time, and most people aren't tested, we're all taking somebody's word for who we are, and who our ancestors are.
"Racial purity" is a meaningless phrase (witness the recent revelation that a white, prominently bigoted senator had a "black" daughter, and the fact that many people consider a person "black" if he or she has "one drop of black blood").
Yes, indeed, fueled by a sense of victimization encouraged by people who make a living out of creating artificial divisions, people on all sides of the issue bristle with indignation, and some of them are black. Nobody's got a monopoly on being wrong, though. Every ethnic group has its fair share of idiots.

Actually I am amazed at how well adjusted Black people are. Look at the screw job they got--their ancestors put into chains and sold as slaves, worked to death in sweltering cotton fields, denied education, then they get Emancipated and the KKK comes around and lynches them to keep them quiet. They escape the south and get the crap knocked out of them like the LAPD on Rodney King. How could they NOT have a chip on their shoulders? Yet most don't. But like any other group, you can find those who are bad. This country would be way ahead to solve its institutionalized racism problem, it is denying itself a vast pool of talent and people who would be glad to move into higher tax brackets and share the burdens of prosperity with white people.

in my opinion alot of the younger generation do. not all - but alot. they want to use slavery as a reason - hello - has anyone seen the 10 commandments - blacks were not the only slaves in history. they think we owe them something - because their ancestors years ago were slaves. what they don't seem to understand is that i think they bring alot of the racisim on themselves - the way they dress - attitudes- ,etc... honestly - i am not going get close to someone looking like a thug - they could be the nicest people in the world - but they scare me just to see them and i get away as far as possible.
its not the society that brings it on them - they bring it on themselves.
just to note - i have a few black friends - i am not total racist - there are white people in this world with just as big a chip.

First off it's a little racist to call them "blacks." It shows that you are not at all astute to the ways to communicate so that you are heard in exactly the same way that you intend to be.
A chip on their shoulder assumes that African Americans are ready to fight with you and are expecting a fight. If I were african american and heard the way you talk, I would expect some kind of verbal confrontation also. Your poor choice of phrases makes you seem a little racist and a little proud of it.
