Like #1 said its possible you are low on fluid, that's the first thing to check. If fluid is low, then fill and test the vehicle, if you are lucky that solves the problem. However, you may have a worse problem that requires a new transmission. It sounds like your tranny is slipping and that is a bad thing, means the tranny will soon be gone. The replacement cost is about $2600, so you better find out soon what's going on and take that truck to the shop!
Followup-you can buy a rebuild or used tranny, but it is unlikely to last as long. Some shops refuse to use those because they are much more likely to have a problem shortly after installation.

Without driving the truck, I'd be guessing, but remember this: You can buy a Reman Hyundai transmission for about $1200. So dont let anyone talk you into rebuiding it, buy a reman from Hyundai, it will be cheaper!!

Sounds to me as if youre low on tranny fluid. Also check vaccum hoses going to tranny. How long has it been since you changed your tranny oil and filter.A dirty filter will make it act that way.If youve got 50,000 or more miles without a filter change Its time for one
