Chapter 13 will do this and "IT DOES" re-establish your credit (Or, it did). Talk to a lawyer that give a free consult and will add their fee into the Bankruptcy.
This really a good way and it go through the courts to protect you. Many people not understand and have been lead to believe Bankruptcy a bad word.
BUT!!!!!!!!!! When you start getting offers for credit cards, throw them away. Chapter 13 DOES help your credit and many Banks will want your business, as they know you can not file again for a certain amount of years.

There are a lot of companies that say that they will do this but you have to be very careful. My brother used one that made him pay them the monthly payments and they were supposed to pay it out to the original creditors - long story short - he paid them thousands of dollars and none of the money ever made it to the original creditors - they claimed it all went to this fee and that fee - he was in a much deeper hole than when he started. Just make sure you do your research on the company.

ElimiDebt, does work I have used them. Please remember none of them really shrink your monthly payments they just lowers your interest rate to where you can eventually get a head. This will take about 3 yrs.

There are tons of them, and using those services hurt your credit more than being in debt.
