i definitely go with Infinity I30 or I35 (had I35 for 4 yrs on lease) great car and very reliable (one of top rated car by Consumer Report)
I rented the 300M while on a trip....Aghrrrr, no visibility if you are tall due to small windows. Not reliable car, And luxury, hahahaha. Cheap looking inside.

Since you seem to be OK with domestic cars, here's a few you should check out -- since domestics depreciate so quickly, you can get great deals on what were originally very pricey cars:
- Cadillac CTS (you could probably get a 2004 or earlier for under $20k. Nice handling, good power, though the styling seems to polarize a lot of people)
- Lincoln LS (similar to the CTS, it was supposed to be a sporty luxury car, but never caught on and was discontinued. Can find some great deals on it considering it retailed for $35-40k new)
- Buick Lacrosse (should have no problem finding 1-2 year old models going for under $20k...not as luxurious or prestigious as other brands, but check out the CXS model -- it has the same 3.6 V6 engine as the upper level CTS, very strong and fuel efficient).

If you want to go really cheap, you can get an Oldsmobile Aurora. Its frequently overlooked since Oldsmobile is now gone.

But the 2001 and up models are really great cars. Phenomenal engines... both of which are based on the Cadillac Northstar, great interior, great performance and fuel economy, and they are very inexpensive. You can find one with lowish miles for around 10 grand.

Also don't worry about parts not being available. Oldsmobile shared a lot of technology with Cadillac... which obviously is still around.
