find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

You didn't say how much you weigh right now, or how tall you are or if you have your doctor's approval for weight loss. I don't understand what taking cold showers and drinking hot water have to do with losing weight. Not drinking sodas is a good idea, they are filled with sugar and diet drinks are sweetened with stuff that upsets alot of folks stomachs or give them headaches.. By eating all the right foods, I assume you are getting protein, calcium, vitamins, and minerals that preteens need to maintain good health. Losing weight is not simple nor is it easy if you want the weight to stay off. Fad diets, like the grapefruit and fried egg diet, are bad as you don't get enuff protein, etc. Cleansing diets will allow you to lose weight, but the loss won't last, and you really don't know what's in those "protein" shakes.(besides they taste like paper pulp after awhile) Losing weight is a lifestyle change, and the best way is to eat all the foods you love, but in moderation and in proper portion. (go online to www.weightwatchers.com to learn about portion control and other good information--including recipes). One other important factor in weight loss is excercise. You didn't say anything about how much excercise you get. You need to drink alot of water, and excercise--walking, jogging, playing sports, like tennis, skating, swimming. Anything where you get alot of physical movement for 30 or so minutes. If you have a Curves for Women health club in your community, you and mom can join together. It's resistance training for 30 min, 3 or more times a week. Even just go and visit one to see how it works.(can you tell? I'm a member, also in weight watchers and I'm no spring chick either!) Good luck in your weight loss adventure and have fun doing it.

I will try to keep it simple. Your metabolism is basically the rate at which your body burns calories to create energy. So the faster your metabolism, the faster you burn calories and the easier it is to lose unwanted weight. To boost your metabolism naturally you just need to eat the right foods.
You can sit down and literally eat a 1,000-calorie dinner and yet be absolutely starving just a few hours later and the reason is simple: Because your body didnt get what it needed in those 1,000 calories so it sends signals to your brain telling you to ingest more calories and thus, the late-night cravings. That means that the surest way to end those late-night cravings and keep your weight loss goals on track is to eat a more balanced, nutritious diet that actually gives your body what it needs.
It's VERY EASY to lose weight if you eat the right foods. Check out Dr. Charles Livingston's video here: http://www.sexyjese.com - it will blow your mind.

To lose weight successfully, you and your daughter should know the food that you eat can either make your daughter THIN or FAT!!!
Yes,it is really important. You should know the truth:
1.Low Fat Foods DON'T always WORK...
2.Low Calorie Diets DON'T always WORK...
3.Low Carb Plans DON'T always WORK...
I followed the guide above and I lost 10 lbs in 7 days and then 30 lbs in less than a month.

At age 12 the LAST thing you need to be teaching your daughter is to start on diets.
Help her lead a healthier lifestyle by encouraging healthy eating habits for the entire family and becoming more active.
With the amount her body will change in the next few years, she needs to NOT be on dieting frenzies, it is very unhealthy for a child her age.
