Lucis (genitive of Lux) has different meaning and then correct translation is depending on the context.
The sentence you've posted can either mean
"The light of the life is on the inside" or
"The light of the world is (on the)inside".
I guess "lucis" here can't be translated as "of light of the day" otherwise the sentence would be "The light of light of the day is inside" and it doesn't make sense.
