I have started walking on a treadmill daily going at an average speed of 3.9-4.4 mph for 65-80 minutes. I usually consume approx. 1400 calories each day [ranges from 1000-1900], but I binge on weekends. How can I get rid of this bad habit? I am by no means anorexic, but I do want to tone up in the stomach department, and lose some of that thigh mass. Or lose about 7-8 pounds. Is this a suitable fitness plan?

I am 14, 5'2", and 114-116 pounds.

OK - you are on the right track (sort of a pun if you think about it), but I think your real concern is the binging. Ask yourself why you do so after working so hard to be fit all week long. Do you binge on junk food, sweets, sugary drinks? Ask yourself why you eat or drink what you do and how does it make you feel afterwards. Can you substitute something healthier? If you are eating to fit in - maybe you just need to make smarter choices. Are you eating because you are bored? You seem to be into a habit that you want to break so I am confident that you can do so and be successful in your pursuit of toning up. Maybe what you need to do is plan some healthy weekend activities with friends to help you avoid the binging. Or maybe you could get a weekend job such as dog walking, baby sitting or even hold fitness classes for other kids. What about planning hikes along local fitness trails or bike rides? With summer coming maybe you could organize a kid's play group. That way, as you lose the weight you gain some $$$. Stick with your plan - you are headed in the right direction.

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.

The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.

It seems like you're doing great with your cardio exercises! Maybe it's time to add some strength conditioning to target your troubled areas. Crunches do work! And so does squats & lunges with light weights, high reps (for lean muscles). Avoid heavy weights which will give you bulk. You can do these 3-4x a week after you walk on the treadmill. Elliptical is also a good workout. It's good to switch up your workouts so your body doesn't get used to one exercise, and end up burning less fat.

As for your binges on the weedends, you can probably give yourself one day to splurge and try to stay eating healthy on the other. Good luck!

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
try eating the same amount of calories every day so your metabolism know what its dealing with and doesnt store any calories in fat reserves
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

Sit ups (3 sets of 30) and briges (3 for 1 minute each). Do not do crunches they are useless. Walking is nice, but jogging is a better way to spend you time.

no, what is wrong...you are 14. you only weigh 114. eat 6 small meals a day to keep you metabolism going and make sure you work out. more important..join sports or something because your body image is consuming too much of your attention. focus on grades and college.
