you have to be totally dedicated to your work out regime and diet. drink plenty of water and take multivitamins. however you are still growing and take it slow that kind of weight loss in such a small period of time is dangerous. don't overdo it.

If you are dead set on dropping 50-55 pounds you should invest in a heart rate monitor. The reason for this is because when your heart is working at 65 to 70% of your maxium heart rate it burns the most amount of fat. Also to keep stress on your body down when exercising, do activities where you can hold your heart rate at at 65-70% of max for a while. So exercise bikes are good, and remember to keep it in a small to medium gear to help muscle development in the legs and so you dont hurt your knees and lower back. With the abs, the excersise balls are good and the gym with have machines that will make getting good abs fun, make sure to ask the people at the front desk.
With food it is important to keep eating and eating well. So because you are trying to lose weight at night eat rice instead of pasta and eat it slow and have drinks of water with it. Good things to add in with the rice is red meat and have lost of veg. During the day try and cut down on breads, but make sure to have fruit and nuts for the oils and have a good solid meal in the morning and early in the mnorning. This is important because your metabolism starts after your fist meal. The more rounded your diet is the better you will be able to exercise and make sure you sleep well because otherwise you will be undoing all your hard work.
And write a program of where you want to do and stick to it, note to ease into the exercise to let your body get use to it, this will give the best weight lose results.
Good luck.

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

I'm trying to lose 64 pounds by X-mas, so I definitely feel you. It's do-able. Go on www.sparkpeople.com. All you have to do is enter you height and weight and how much you wanna lose and by when, and they'll make up an exercise and diet plan for you. It tracks your calories and stuff...I really like it. It's good for motivation.

go on the south beach diet... works great! walk, run a bit. For abs, do crunches, sit-ups on an exercise ball.
