I was reading thru some of the question on here and one guy was askin about bein bipolar and one guy answered him by sayin that if u think u hav it then chances r u dont. So is that true. Has everyone thats been diagnosed been sent to a professional by someone else or is it possible to believe/ realize you need help.

It's possible to realize that you need help. However, much of the time, people who are really ill - say with untreated bipolarity or schizophrenia - do not realize that they are ill, and many times they refuse to believe that they are ill. That's the origin of that phrase.

It is entirely possible for someone to realize that they have a problem and go to get help for it. But often people worry too much about if they have a mental disorder or not, when actually what they are experiencing is a normal life situation.

Well, this a good question and can swing both ways.
There are people that just believe they need help and many times it in their heads, as they admit the problem.
Then there are those of us that deny we have a problem, and not say anything as it is a real problem. Usually the ones that really not want to worry, have the illness, they tend to not want to believe it can happen to them.
This a short on what you ask, but, you should see the picture.
This "IS NOT" just referring to people on Drugs or Alcohol. It is a mental thing and there is a name for this; "Hypochondriac";

well not really .. it depends on what u think u have.. something like bipolar.. that is serious and needs to be accessed ...but if u think u have something like a flu then I wouldn't be worried..most of what I think rather its flu or watnot it usually is.. so no id have to say that guy was wrong..

It's completely possible to believe/realize that you need help.

That statement is not even rational. Yes, one may realize that there is something and can find help on his own.
