to the doctor and he gave me amoxicillin 3 times a day for 10 days. I am on my 8th pill. My throat pain has went away but I am having a runny nose and cold like symptoms(cough, runny nose, stuffy nose, headache) is this normal? the pills are 500mg

You obviously more than likely do have a cold.
Take your Amoxicillin as instructed so you completely get over the tonsillitis.
Time will take care of the rest. Get plenty of rest and drink fluids, and see you doctor again if not improving after about 10 days.
Consult your doctor and pharmacist before using any antihistamines or decongestants since you are pregnant.
Take care of the baby 1st.

Amoxycillin is the drug of choice for tonsillitis. Probably you are also having a viral cold. Usual cold drugs do not harm your pregnancy.

we both have the same experience, exactly the same. with my colds, i went back to my ob and she gave me another meds to take, but i forgot the name, so better consult ur ob or doctor
