Jesus is not to be worshipped or prayed to.

2007-05-20 16:01:24 · 10 answers · asked by my buddy 1 in Society & Culture Religion & Spirituality

Isn't he the one we go to for Salvation?
He died for us, why not pray to him,
forgiveness of sin?

He is our Savior and Lord. If you have
Asked him to come into your heart,
then he is your Savior too.
He is the Savior of the World, he came
to die in your place. Why not pray to
him, to save you?

Debbie,
Jesus is not an angel. He is the son of
God, the Savior of the world. Only through him can a person be saved.
so why not pray to him. He will saved
you from your sins.

achtung,
You miss interpret the scripture.
There is words missing from the verses
that you typed down.
If you are reading from the New World
translation, that book adds to and
takes away words from scripture.
Read from the king James Version.

The Jehovah’s Witnesses deny the Incarnation. According to them, Jesus isn’t God, so there’s no question about God taking flesh. But they also deny it in a second sense. In the Incarnation, the Son’s divine nature became united with a human nature, so his two natures co-existed. But the Witnesses say that even after Jesus’ appearance on Earth there was only one nature—the human.

The Jehovah’s Witnesses are actually Unitarians, not Trinitarians. They don’t believe in three divine persons, but in one, Jehovah (the Father). The Son isn’t God, but a creature. The Holy Spirit isn’t God either—in fact, he isn’t a person at all, but "Jehovah’s active force," something comparable to electricity. In the NWT we find his name given in lower-case: "the holy spirit."

Why do you single out JWs?
JWs aren't the only ones who know that truth!

the simplest, logical answer is; 'who did Yhshua/Jesus pray to?'

Yhshua/Jesus instructed his followers to pray to the same God he prayed to (Matthew 6:9; John 20:17) Wicked men have removed the name of the God and Father of Yhshua/Jesus, but there are a few Bible translators who have not followed satan's lead in cutting out the Divine Holy Name of the one Jesus told us to pray to and the one he calls his God and Father, "the only true God"
His name is YHWH/Jehovah (Acts 3:13; Psalm 83:18)
Matthew 22:37/Deuteronomy 6:5
Matthew 14:23
Mark 1:35
Mark 6:46
Mark 14:32
Luke 6:12
Matthew 6:9
John 20:17
John 17:1-5
John 5:19
John 14:28
Mark 10:18
Matthew 26:39
John 8:17-18
Mark 13:32
Matthew 20:23
Matthew 3:17

Here are the most popular translations that have *not* sinfully removed God's Divine Holy Name in it's near 7,000 occurrences:
American Standard Version
New World Translation
Young's Literal Translation
Darby Translation
The Way (the living Bible: complete catholic edition)
though the catholic one contains additional books to the 66 book Bible and those additional books are of dubious origin.

agape!

Because it is the truth.

Jesus is the high priest as Heb 9:11 says.

High priests were not worshipped but were a means of approaching Jehovah God.

They say Jesus was a perfect man but they deny the diety of Christ as God in flesh which John 1:1, 14, Heb. 2:9, Col, 2:9, Gal 4:4-5, Phil 2:5-8, John 10:30, 1 John 5:7 say that he was God in flesh. They also say Jesus was a created angel which he wasn't according to Heb 1:5.

For to which of the angels did He ever say:“ You are My Son,Today I have begotten You”? Heb. 1:5

JW's are not God's organization. They preach a false gospel. They are satans witnesses!

I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed. Gal 1:6-9

Jehovah's Witnesses "honor" or "do obeisance to" (or "worship", when the term is defined biblically) their Lord Jesus Christ when they follow his teachings and imitate his godly example.

(Philippians 2:10-11) ...in the name of Jesus every knee should bend...and every tongue should openly acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.

Another way that Jehovah's Witnesses "honor" or "do obeisance to" (or "worship", when the term is defined biblically) their Lord Jesus Christ is in offering every prayer in the name of Jesus.

(John 14:6) Jesus said... “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

A third way that Jehovah's Witnesses "honor" or "do obeisance to" (or "worship", when the term is defined biblically) their Lord Jesus Christ is in progressing to dedication and baptism as Christians in Christ's name.

(Acts 2:38) Repent, and let each one of YOU be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ

However, Jehovah's Witnesses are perhaps most unique among self-described Christians in the way in which they "honor" or "do obeisance to" (or "worship", when the term is defined biblically) their Lord Jesus Christ by actually OBEYING the explicit command of Christ Jesus to preach the good news.

(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them

(Luke 10:1,2,16) [Jesus] sent them forth by twos in advance of him into every city and place to which he himself was going to come. Then he began to say to them: “The harvest, indeed, is great, but the workers are few. Therefore beg the Master of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest. ...He that listens to you listens to me too. And he that disregards you disregards me too. Moreover, he that disregards me disregards also him that sent me forth.”

In the bible, no prayer is ever said directly to Jesus. In the bible, every person who ever addresses Jesus does so because Jesus appears in front of him!

Thanks for another opportunity to share the bible truth that Jehovah God the Father is a distinct person from Jesus Christ the Son!

Jesus was a messenger angel
He always points to Jehovah as God. He never said he was equal to God.
His father sent him to teach mankind how to be approved by God..The Jews wouldn't listen. They didn't want to give up their positions in the Sanhedrin as Pharisees and Sadducee's. So even though they knew the scriptures pointed to Jesus as the Messiah they chose to have him killed.

Jesus is God's firstborn son. He loves him very much..And we love Jesus for sacrificing his life for ours. He is our Messianic King and he will judge the living and the dead as his father , Jehovah has entrusted him to do.

But only Jehovah is the hearer of prayer. We cannot be heard by God though unless we say through Jesus amen.
Jesus is likened to a private secretary. No one gets to the boss except through him.

Jesus himself as well as other angels warned men not to bow to them or praise them. They told the men it is to Jehovah alone we render sacred service.

That is how satan came to be...he wanted worship for himself...he will be destroyed.

Why slam the JWs for not praying to Jesus. You should also be slamming the Apostles from not paying to him either.

Jehovah's Witnesses believe that they should only worship Jehovah. They understand that Jesus Christ is the way to salvation however all their prayers are said to Jehovah God.
