Don't worry, if that were truly racist, it would have been a statement not a question. You know questions, the tools one uses to Learn?
Ok, I have lots of black friends, and they too get hurt by the sun.

The lighter the skin the quicker it gets hurt from the sun.
Black people rarely suffer from sunburn because the pigment in the upper layers of their skin prevents the penetration of the sunburn rays to the sensitive, deeper layers. However they can get melanoma and skin damage same as any one else out there with skin of any colour.

I'm not black so I can't speak for them. But I have worked in preschool before and at one point in time wondered if black people sun burn too cuz we had to put sun screen on all the kids no matter the skin tone. ( I don't mean for any of this to sound racial) So I asked a friend of mine who was black if she ever had a sun burn and to my surprice said yes. Since then I have seen black people with sun burns and its not as hard to tell as you may think. I know we look pink or a light shade of red but when people with very dark skin tone sun burn they turn like stop sign red on top of their dark tone.

Since people of color come in all shades, its possible to "see" their sunburn. Yes, we peel too. We can get skin cancer also. Caucasians haven't cornered the market on anything dealing with the skin.

When my sister gets a sunburn you can tell (and she whines a lot so I know she can feel it). She even gets darker if she tans everyday during the summer.

Yes, they can burn. They can see a reddening of their skin as well. It just takes some more sun exposure to cause their skin to burn, also depending on how dark their skin is.

I'm not sure you should be asking a question like this but.Since we are of a darker shade we don't get the sun's ray damage like people of no color. We don't suck up the sun's vitamins but we may get a color difference.

They will burn just like us "whities". You do not see many blacks sunbathing on the beaches in Florida. Normally when they are fishing they have a long sleeve shirt on.
