And it's now a couple inches below my shoulders, very flattering length. It looked sleek because of the layering. But today after washing it when I went outside it got poofy poofy poofy! What happened???

It poofed because it no longer has the weight of longer hair to keep it down. You'll need to straighten it with a flat iron if you like the sleek look. Use heat protectant spray and a very hot iron. Good luck!

If you've never had that problem then maybe the weather had something to do with it. Try using anti frizz stuff before drying hair it'll help a bit.

when you have wet hair and you go outside into an environment that is warm and it dries that fast it tends to poof up. SAme with if you go outside when theres high humidity.

that ususally happens when you get a new haircut but it goes away soon just keep reblowdrying over and over again until your hair gets used to it just needs time to adjust it always happens.. it will go away =]

did you blow it out straight? That can make a huge difference.
