A co-worker of mine says that she lives for her daughter. Her daughter is 12 and her only child.
Is it common for people to live for their children?

This life is very special and beautiful in its own way and we human beings are blessed by all the things present in nature around us. To be able to feel 'affection' is one of those blessings.
Human psychology is adapted in such a way that it needs love, affection, togetherness, recognition, 'attention' and self justification etc, to feel 'complete'.
Now, when people give birth to babies, the event acts as a fulfillment of desires, it makes them feel that they are living once again through their child. This creates a sense of love and affection towards their child. They know that their child needs love and support to grow up and thus they feel that they will provide that love and support endless and selflessly to thier children.
Sometimes, whatever they have not been able to achieve in their life time....they want their children to achieve those things and want their children to live a better life.
Infact it is very common for people to live for their children.

Most people with children live for their children.
Do you have kids? Not being "high and mighty" here but it's kind of hard to understand if you don't have kids. We waited 8 years into our marriage before we took the plunge and I used to be really put off by parents that said "...when you have children, you will understand". But they were right.

i dont know whether people live for their children
but for sure my mum live for their children
normally women with high educated r not willing to spend their time for children becoz they got the knowledge n they can get a high salary job...while women with low educated they r willing spend their time on their family

most mother lives for their children as i say most. most mother puts all their hope on their children cause nowsaday husbands wont be yours forever but children do.
