I'm worried! I was singing a few minutes ago and noticed that I can't hit notes in my usual range... instead I make a noise rather like a dying cat. Also, my throat is very sore. Could it be laryngitus? I was at theme parks for the past two days, riding a lot of roller coasters and screaming... could that have led to this?

Highly likely it was all the screaming at the park. Give your voice a couple of days to rest, and you should be back to normal.

Best of luck to you,

Yes, rest rest rest... and no more screaming for a few days. Gargle with salt water and be easy on your voice. Screaming is not really good for your throat.

You don't need us you just answered your own question.Of course screaming will make you lose your voice for a few days. I have bronchial pneumonia and can't talk. You went on a roller coaster. I would say give it a day or two.You are fine.

It sounds like a sore throat. Drink some hot liquids and take some throat lozenges like Hall's, etc. You should also rest your voice for some time.
