Shampoo regularly, and apply conditioner only to the ends of your hair. Conditioning your roots will make your hair look greasy faster. Hair Oil is a natural conditioner so you don't need it for your roots. :-)

In between showers rub some baby powder into your hair, it will absorb some of the grease. You can also buy a dry powder shampoo that will blend in with your hair colour. It will look better and have the same effect as baby powder.

When you brush your hair, avoid brushing the roots too much because it stimulates the oil glands.

've had oily hair ever since I hit puberty. Let me tell you, I've tried almost all of the oily hair shampoos out there... drugstore brands, salon, all-natural... and I have yet to find a product that truly helps.

I don't really think there's much we can do to get rid of this problem, but I find that any type of clarifying shampoo followed by a light conditioner on the ends only will help. The Pantene clarifying shampoo -- it's a clear blue color -- will give you a deep clean without making your hair feel like straw. I also like the Aussie shampoo and conditioner (it just changed it's name to "cleanse and mend") a lot. It treats and greasy scalp AND dry ends.

Finally, don't run your fingers through your hair too much -- otherwise, it will get even more oily!

Heres something I haven't seen suggested yet from our panel of "experts". Everyone wants to tell you how to treat the condition, but nobody seems to want to address the cause. Have you ever considered changing your diet to include fewer calories, fat, and oils? I understand to some degree our bodies will change anything we consume into anything it needs at the time, but we can also aggrivate things by eating foods that certainly don't help the problem. If you drink lots of soda pop and kool-aid and eat lots of oily, greasy, fatty foods, and ingest a lot of processed sugars, I can't believe for a second that that wouldn't aggrivate the situation. Try modifying your diet and see if that helps.

I get really greasy hair too. Don't wash the top of your hair with conditioner because that can make it greasy. Also, don't wet your hair down alot.

i know what that's like, during adolescence no matter how much i showered by hair still got so greasy throughout the day so my mom told me to use baby powder. I sprinkled it through my hair and rubbed it in throughout the day. It really does work quite well.

If you wash your hair in the morning it can pontentially be less greasy. Otherwise, try using baby powder in your hair - it dulls the shine - but not too much as it can leave white(obviously!)

I think you just have to shampoo it often.
I don't think you can fix it since that's just your hair type.

But I'm pretty sure there are shampoos that
specialize for greasy hair.
