I'm a 27 year old mom of 2. I'm exercising regularly, but I can't seem to lose the weight around the middle. Any suggestions regarding healthy recipes or foods are welcome. You could mention exercises too, I need all the help I can get. We have a 10 year reunion coming up in October, and I want to make some life changes. Thanks!

I joined the Self.com challenge. It is FREE (believe it or not) and it has helped me get on track. It has great tips on eating right and exercising properly. It also has tools such as tracking your caloric intake and calculating how much exercising you've done week to week. Try it, It is great! I have lost 15 lbs!

I just have been changing my eating habits. I eat salad, veggies, whole wheat bread instead of white bread. I eat Kashi Go Lean cereal and watch portion sizes. And once in a while I treat myself. I too am a mother and want to lose the extra weight around my mid section. So far in the past week I have lost an inch!

Here are some habits which you can do to lose your love handles. Remember they are a part of your total body fat so you must lose your total body fat to lose those love handles.

1. Climb to your office floor using stairs at the office. This walking exercise is an exercise for a flatter stomach that you can do without wasting a lot of time everyday.

2. Portion control. Eat slower! Compete to be the slowest eater, this will give your stomach time to digest and react whether it's full or not.

3. Sitting straight instead slumping like a potato couch!

4. Stop drinking any alcohol!

5. Abdominal exercise will shape the muscle in your abs and it can helps hiding away those love handles

Office exercise: Sit in your chair straight. Make sure your back is firmly against the back of the chair then you put your hands on your thigh and lift your legs alternatingly. Do this for three sets of ten.

Bedroom exercise #1: Do regular sit up by lying flat on the floor. Then put your hands at the back of your head and bent your knees to make a 120 degrees angle between your thighs and your stomach. Then curl up and lift your shoulders from the floor. Don't use your hands to push your head. Repeat this exercise for three sets of eight.

Bedroom exercise #2: Lie flat on the floor and bring up your legs to make 90 degrees angle between your legs and your stomach. Repeat this for three sets of eight.

6. Build up muscles in your thighs or arms so that you can lose those love handles faster. The more muscle you have, the merrier. Since your body will needs more calories to maintain those muscles. Which means your body will start using your love handles fat stock to convert into energy.

7. Do cardio! Strengthening muscles can only take you at a certain level, to destroy the fat you need to burn your extra calories. And that could be done optimally by doing a cardio session". Which means you need to use the treadmill with the cardio workout setting or joining a high impact aerobics class.

As for foods recipes, there are no ways that foods can target your belly fat w/o reducing your total body fat. There are tons of diet recipes out there and you should select it yourself. If you depend on foods solely you will likely to fail.

there is no way to eat certain foods to lose belly fat, and you can't crunch away belly fat, just like chewing gum doesn't give you a skinny face. This idea is called spot reducing and exercise physiologist will tell you its not valid. So Stay with what really works, good nutrition, smart cardio, progressive resistance program, and an educated supplement regime and get some qualified professional advice not some crap advice and infomercial thigh master garbage.

To lose weight successfully, you should know the food that you eat can either make you THIN or FAT!!!
Yes,it is really important. You should know the truth:

I followed the guide above and I lost 10 lbs in 7 days and then 30 lbs in less than a month.

Hello Sugar! So proud of you to make time for yourself. So important in life. The best way is to watch what is in your foods. Anything with these ingredients should be avoided at all cost; hydrogenated oil, partially hydrogenated oil, trans fat, lard, and shortening. All are pure fat, and hydrogenated oils are particularly hard to burn, they stick to our weak areas, tummy, thighs, rear, etc. It is in mainly prepackaged foods, cakes, frostings, cookies, breads, doughnuts, certain crackers, and many other products that are convenience foods. It is in so much food, but there are many alternative products. Women in particular have a more difficult time getting rid of this fat, hard to burn off. SO Make sure to search the labels. Children should avoid this as well, it is contributing to the growing number of obese children.

Also, Denise Austin an authority in womens health and exercise has much to offer. Denise has a website, she has healthy meal guides, exercises, motivational messages, and her workouts are on lifetime every morning. She is awesome and inspiring, and she alternates body areas, targeting specific areas every day.

Good luck to you sister, and you sound like you are on the right track. If you need any more advice....mail me.
Blessings

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

1 You should probably try pilates or yoga. Yoga will work you and get you toned, and pilates will most likely result in weight loss. #2 I don't know of any free exercising websites. If you have Time Warner Cable, go to channel 426. It's an exercising channel. But if not, then i don't know what to tell you. Maybe you shoud just try Youtube?.....? #3 Just try to eat responsibly. You can still enjoy a good cheesecake now and then, just make sure you're responsible about it. Don't overdo it. If you eat regularly and not super diet-strict, and exercise, but still eat healthy, you can definitely pull it off! #4 Good luck. I think you can do it! P.S. Idk. Maybe crunches or something? :-)

i think that you can eat whatever you want, you just have to eat in tiny little portions and not big plate fulls. and dont eat past 8:00 pm. your stomach needs time to digest fully or else it wont be done and it causes more belly fat. o yeah.....and try to take a walk every once in awhile
