I know your audition is today, and so there is not really any point in answering this. But just for future reference here is my 2 cents. The same thing happened to me last year, except it wasn't an audition, and it wasn't because of partying. I had a very sore throat and a cold and I had a performance that evening. So I called my voice teacher and this is what she told me:
Drinking tea is all well and good, but just make sure it is not caffeinated. While you may want to take a nap, don't. It will cause your vocal chords to contract and it takes a long time for them to expand again (this is why your range isn't that wide in the morning). Eat apples. Also eat foods high in protein like meats and nuts. Don't eat foods that will suck the moisture out of your throat (bread). Dairy isn't necessarily all that great too.
Another piece of advice, is to drink hot water and lemon before. I was in a musical this past summer, and we rehearsed in the morning. This trick helped me hit my high notes. I hoped you did well on your audition!

1. DO NOT STRESS YOUR VOICE AT ALL!!! wisper whever you have to talk.
2. Drink lots of water and hot tea with lemon, no cold drinks, NO caffinated drinks!!!
3. SLEEP will definitely help, get some rest.
4. When you do go to your audition do not push your voice to try to sound better, you could do permenate damage.
3. Try to still be confident, even if your voice isn't all it can be, don't think your chances are completely over, do your best so that you can be proud of yourself!
4. BREATHE! Have fun, be yourself and remember you're doing this because you love it and your life is NOT over! GOOD LUCK HUN!!!!!

first of all, being a singer my self since i was a little girl...you should really limit your self on the partying. its hard and i understand i'm just 19 and i love to party but your voice isnt an instrument that you can put away. I constantly have a love/hate relationship with my voice, you can't do much of a lot. like partyin..theres a limit...especially since you have auditons and performances.
but, your doing the right thing, dont talk, sleep, drink water and apple juice helps *** well, if your going to eat, eat at lest 2 hours before the audition. and do your warm up excercises.
break-a-leg!
remember, dont eat or drink anything with dairy

It depends why your coughing. If it's the start of a cold, it's Bacterial - Gargle with Betadine or Iodine in a low note. High notes close the back of the throat so the Betadine doesn;t get to the back of the throat. Manuka Honey can soothe the back of the throat and is also antibacterial. There are cough suppressants available ask your chemist but the most common is Gee's Linctus.

If you had a big audition "of your life" on Monday, then why would you go to a party on Friday and risk your voice? That doesn't sound too serious to me.

Don't use throat lozenges, as they contain anaesthetic (to numb the pain), and you could do more damage.
Honey in herbal tea should do the trick.

again take lots of sleep, stop the tea, they dehydrate your throat, try pei pa koa if you have a chinese drugstore there in your area if not, you can always resort to honey, take 1 spoonful every 30 minutes.
