Military recruitment is up! Where are you getting your stats from?
By the way, in the United States we have an all voluntary military. No one is forced to join.

Because the war did not end in the 30 minute time frame most Americans can tolerate, and not the 30 plus year War were now in due to changing demographics in the middle east.
Plus Pat Tillman was an rarity among sports players as he believed in something bigger then his next paycheck, and its unfortunate he got killed in the way he did. But the Army should of said it was friendly fire under an enemy attack and not the BS story we got.
I would be there with you guys as I always wanted to join the 82nd airbourne but my asthma while not bad by any means it would kill me during basic or even worse under enemy fire. As it is I buy lots of Beer for service people when I see them to say thanks, but its usually the one I already know.
I know one day were going to get suicide bombers here in America and what will the TV generation do then?
Good luck out there

I am too old but my son is an Army Officer & Ranger like Pat Tillman. I have taught my family to be patriotic & supportive of the military.
Accrding to ABC & NBC, 81% of America supported the war in 2003 now it is 34% - does that mean 38% flip flopped or had not realized what war meant. We can not just quit a war because it is inconvenient. I was 1 of the 81% & I remain in support of the effort to destroy Al Queda.

I'm right here young man, unfortunately they don't take retirees. So my next best thing was to support YOU by helping Brigades train at the NTC before they head over there. You better focus on your warfighting skills and not worry about where I am. When you make 1SG like I did you'll show better respect.

I still support the President. He's handled the war miserably by not letting our troops do what they do best (fight and win) but I still support him.
As for doing my part, I'm too old and already served in the USAF. My son is too young.

Been there, done that, and I still think the war is a good thing. Besides the fact that Saddam was an evil person who deserved to die, we are helping stabilize the region.
