IF you don't like the job you do and it causes you some grief over it mentally or emotionally it will affect your work performance physically. That is never a good thing. I would try to avoid the boss and stick to what needs to be done OR look for another job and when you are hired someplace else tell your boss you quit or give a notice to finish there if the new job will let to use that as a reference in the future if needed and you have been there a while now. Good luck. Try to avoid the antidepressants, they can alter your mood and they can affect your work then. IF you have been there a while and the boss fires you then file for unemployment compensation to get some money while you are out of work. You can't file if you quit but you can if you get let go by the boss.

It's never fun dealing with anxiety. Good luck on that. You don't say what sort of job you have, and why it's triggering anxiety.

Antidepressants aren't the only solution. You could talk to a therapist. They can help people learn to deal with anxiety.

Another solution would be to look for a better working situation. I wouldn't quit, or try to get fired, but see if you can find something better. Starting a job search and educating yourself about other opportunities that are available to you can help you recognize that you have options more than the two meager ones you mentioned (get fired or quit). You're not trapped. It's easier to find a job when you have one. You can usually negotiate a better salary when you're already employed.

I'd also advise you to stop avoiding your boss...unless your boss is threatening to do physical harm to you, in which case you should call a lawyer or the police. Take a deep breath and face the problem, whatever it is. But look for a good exit strategy in that new, better job.

I say quit your job. Life is too short to be stressed out on the job. You can try to give notice, but be prepared to get fired upon giving your notice. That's what happened to me. I was having anxiety caused by my job. My doctor said I had to quit or become severely ill. I contracted irritable bowel syndrome as a direct result of stress from my job. The pain was unbearable. I gave a 2 week notice and immediately got fired on the spot. It was the best thing that I ever did. Eventually, my symptoms disappeared completely and I found a better job. I still have IBS but haven't suffered a painful episode since I quit my job. Good Luck!

Whether through medication or other means (yoga, exercise, etc) you need to get the anxiety itself under control. You mentioned you spoke to a physicians asst, but you need to see a doctor (for possible medication), or perhaps even a psychologist or a licensed counselor who can work with you to battle the anxiety through other means. You need to determine the underlying cause of your anxiety and how bad it is. Is this strictly job-related, or is it constant even when you are away from work?

Unfortunately, if the anxiety continues, it can gradually turn into depression. By staying in a constant stressed-out/high-key state, you can actually alter your body's normal chemical makeup which can drive you into a depression.

You need to find a way to deal with the anxiety and release your stress in a safe and helpful way if possible (again, jogging, working out in a gym, yoga, etc). Physical exercise is one of the best outlets the body has to release stress and tension. If you do nothing, your anxiety can end up causing more serious medical issues.

I stayed at my job for 6-8 months and was always po,,,ed. All the stress took a toll on me and I came down with mono. That was 6 months ago, and I am still feeling bad, it def lead to depression and attacks. Not worth staying at your job. I could not be even close to were Im at now if I had stayed under stress. When your under stress it also leads to health issues and not as good immune system. I gave 2 weeks and they let me go in 5 days. I could see it get worse from last spring to fall so I had to call it quits, to the point of where I couldnt think straight. get out and run or do other things if you do decide to stay, you will have to make life changes so you can cope with the stress. I couldnt even talk to my boss with out freaking out i was so pssd off and stressed.

Maybe you should talk to your boss, or whoever is causing this anxiety first and see if you can work it out. Jobs are hard to find!

Find another job and give 8 days notice. Forget two weeks. If boos is a A- hole, give less time than two weeks....one week even if necessary. Your boss will have you develop and ulcer. Not worth it at all!

Well, since you were lazy, incompetent and unethical, how are you to remember the passwords? "I think I don't remember" should be your mantra. Then as you lay in bed ready for sleep, you can chortle at the thought of them frantically trying to access the files. Sweet dreams!
