They could also be psycho and plotting your unfortunate death ... but probably not ... they could just as easily be staring into your eyes with love, but just not showing it.
If you really feel bothered, ask him next time he does it. If he does feel insecure and uncertain, don't bully him into an answer ...

I have had a crush on a guy who's very quiet (in my photo class) for a long time- he knows i like him because a mutual friend told him
i always catch him kind of staring at me and when i look up its a lock-eye stare, but i can never hold it, and then when i look back after breaking the stare he is looking out the window
it's so confusing- and you're right a lot of guys do do it... without smiling too
I guess what i'd say is either they like you and are too shy to say, or else they are just trying to puzzle out like "does she really like me?" thats the best answer i can give- hope i helped!

I've been thinking about that. There were a lot of guys who stare at me without a smile, but it was like a lock-eye stare, but I can never keep it longer than 2 seconds. I wonder what it means lol.

I have had this happen to me - when they stare with this strange expression on their face - kinda makes you feel weird. I think they are lost in thought about you and they can't take their eyes off you because they are very into you and very attracted. I got the weirdest feeling when someone did this to me, especially since there were 2 other people in the room at the time, which made it all the more awkward. My ears actually were ringing because I got such vibes from the person. So I understand what you are saying , and hope my explanation makes sense!

It is a sign to stay away because he's probably really creepy and dishonest. The nicest, most honest guys will smile right at you if they like you.
I always think a 'starer' is having a kind of power game with you - seeing if he can stare you down and be in control.

Guys have a tendency to look at other things while they are listening while girls normally look eye to eye. IDK why, thats just what happens. So he doesn't care what you have to say, bares talking to you all the time despite the fact, tries to be friendly as much as possible, tries to steal glances at you when your not looking because he likes pain and and you piss him off so much for talking to him... oh, wait, that doesn't make sense!... He probably is just making a point of looking you in the eye and is somewhere between a huge crush and infatuation. Have fun!

I think it's something kind of serious. I think the guy's telling you something.. sending you a message that's somewhat serious yet sincere; but can't say it through words maybe because he can't find the right words. Maybe he's sending you a romantic message or something like that. It's also like he's telling you to "i'm not joking around. i hope you'll also take me seriously", something like that. lol. well you get the idea. I think that's cute though.

My guess is that they're looking for signals from you. It's really tough sometimes for a guy to know if a girl is interested.

I have done it and i am a girl. I do it bec i like to observe. I stare because i am admireing evey detail anout that person. And i do not do it with anyone. I do it with people i find fasinating. I just find them intresting and admire them. Maybe he is admiring you and who you are.
