For practical reasons, I'd go with the Civic EX.
- Comes in sedan form (although you don't mention if you're looking at the coupe or not)
- Gets better gas mileage
- Proven resale value (sport coupes like the Scion tC do not tend to age well -- they are very "flavor of the month" -- whereas 10 years down the road everyone will still know what a Civic is).

I also have a 07 Tc. i admire the vehicle and characteristic no longer had a concern with it. I went with Scion because of the fact it replaced right into slightly greater value-effective and since the dealship replaced into ALOT closer. you purely quite could desire to pass try stress them the two and hear what deals are occurring on the dealership.

personally id choose the civic. but the only reason id do so is because of looks.
the scion to me looks like it has 4wd. It looks like its very top heavy and could just fall over.
the interior of the scion is typical toyota. High quality, but ghey. the speedo is center mounted and i cant get past that.
The scion has great build quality, excellent reliability, and great performance for the money.
the civic has the same top notch reliability and build quality, but the performance is no where near the tcs.
