because of places like mcdonalds, bk, jack in the box. because everybodys so into work, and television, no time to exercise.

Because there are so many fast food franchises everywhere.

FYI, all Americans are not fat. And other countries have obesity problems too!

Many of the people in our society eat a lot of greasy foods and in large portions.

In some of our restaurants, you can even find salads which contain over 1000 calories (I am still in awe of that fact).

Because we like to eat and eat extra large portions!!

It probably has something to do with the fact that there seem to be twice as many fast food joints as churches or libraries or anything else around here.....

very simple, when you take in more calories than you expend, you gain weight. When people sit on their backsides and take in high amounts of calories, they gain weight. Americans have almost unlimited amounts of inexpensive food, and very few adults do hard manual labor.

because the food they eat nowadays people don't walk that much and don't have jobs that required a lot of energy to burn off the calories from the food they eat.
