Mark, at 5'11" and 193 pounds, you could be solid muscle. However, if you ate junk, you undoubtedly increased your body fat. Take your swimming class, but along with it, start a good cardio "sweating" program. Something that works well, actually, for converting body fat to muscle is wind sprints. Start by walking part way around a track, then run as fast as you can for a short distance. Keep this up during the summer, along with your swimming; and then you'll never have to be concerned with body image. I'll betcha there will be a lot of people in the class who look worse than you. So take this negative and turn it into a positive, k?

I don't think you're fat for your height. My boyfriend is 5'8. He went from about 160ish last year to 184 now, and he's starting to get a belly, but considering you're tall that weight is probably about average.
With that said, if you're uncomfortable with the way you look it might affect your performance in the class, in which case I would drop it and maybe take a different class in its place. Since it's just a swimming class I'm assuming there are probably other athletic electives you can take.
Or just forget about what other people think and take the class if you think you'll like it. Maybe you'll even lose some of the weight in the process. :)

You should definitely stay in the class.
Swimming is a great exercise! Who knows--maybe it'll help you drop some weight!
Don't worry about what you look like for this swimming class. Sooooo many people are insecure about their bodies during the swim suit season. You'll be just fine!

the answer to this question completely relies upon on the place you attend college. I even have attended and visited quite a few colleges, and the respond could have been diverse at each and every. you're able to touch the Registrar's workplace and/or seek the college's internet site for a .pdf or digital version of the student handbook to nicely known for specific. oftentimes, besides the undeniable fact that, this early in the semester, being dropped from a classification via a prof using non-attendance is precisely like dropping the classification your self. you heavily isn't charged for the classification, you will not earn a grade in the classification, etc. Your chum's conventional concern at this factor is in all risk just to verify she continues to be taking sufficient credit to maintain an entire load of training (if she is meant to be an entire-time student). besides the undeniable fact that, please confirm to earnings with the Registrar and assessment the student handbook at your college so as which you will comprehend for specific. extra desirable secure than sorry--consistently!

First of all, you're not "fat". You're "at risk of becoming overweight" You're original weight was fine...
If you need to take the class then take it. You still have two months, you'll be suprised when you see progress that can be made in this short time. Try to lose some weight-you needn't lose that much.
