A fun board. They are wide and easy to ride in almost and condition which makes them great beginner boards. Go to your local surfshop nd ask them to recommend something. Tell them you're a beginner and what your goals are and they can most def help based on your build and skills.

Nowadays people say use a soft board but I figure if you're gonna fall, you're gonna fall. If you get hurt, you get back up. If you fall on a hardtop it's gonna hrut so why start on a board that doesn't hurt? My mentality is that if it hurts when you fall you'll be less likely to do it. But whatever works for you!

id recomend you use soft tops.
because you are still learning and you'll be falling alot.
you dont want to get hurt on something hard.
so fall on a soft top.

Foamy or soft board
they are great to learn on as they are very difficult to break and doesn't hurt if it hits you.
