I'm not religious at all, but I think I need a bit of help. My mother used to pray for me, but she died last year. I would appreciate it. Thanks.

I'm really touched by all your responses, I had no idea that such a caring community existed. I've not cried like this for months. Thanks again.

I send you prayers from a not so long ago past, prayers of a mother praying for this special and unique person, for your happiness and health and for you to have all of your dreams come true. I pray for your safety for your needs being met and for you to be surrounded by people who love you. I pray for unity and harmony in your life today, and tomorrow in all places and times, now and on the other side. I pray for only Gods grace, mercy and love to enter your home and for you to live in the purity of the white shining light.

Linking our hearts with yours through prayer...Prayer is focusing your will on something greater than yourself. For some it is Christ. For some it is God. For some it is unwordable. Remember that fear does not have any special power unless you empower it by submitting to it. There is nothing strange nor unusual about requesting prayers for yourself. I am sure all of us here on Yahoo! Answers who believe in such things would be very honoured to pray and offer prayers for your well being. My mother used to pray for me every day, so I know first hand what you are talking about. Collective prayer, when many people pray for you, can bring astounding results. I know this from first hand experience, again, having been so strengthened and thus able to give up alcohol over twenty years ago. The power of prayer is very great. Thank you for posting this important question.

I do understand your parents' concern sweetie but they are dead wrong when they blame you for "opening the floodgate" of his passion by kissing him. They must not be remembering back to their teens but those hormones are raging and the feelings are already there. Kissing is not a sin. Passion and desire and normal, God-given feelings. You both are indeed very young and you need to be careful but you sound like you do indeed WANT to live a Christian life and do the right thing. That is very noble of you. Your parents can't save you. They taught you the difference between right and wrong and they raised you in church. It's time to let go and give God control. Only God can save you and you must call on Him personally to give you strength in this situation with your boyfriend and in the situation with you parents. Call on Him to give you answers - ask what is the RIGHT thing for you to do with the relationship. It sounds like you two really love each other and that is possible at 14 - I know because it happened to me at that age. All these years later I could never lie and say it wasn't real. If your boyfriend says he is a born-again Christian and he lives that life that is all you need to go by. The fact that he is unhappy in the Catholic church and happy at your church indicates that he is seeking something more than the rituals the Catholic church offers. If he was "lost" he wouldn't feel the same. He would be uncomfortable there at your church. I'm praying for both of you! You sound like such a sweet and sincere girl. I really hope it all works out for you! God bless you!

Are you saying that her prayers caused you to feel better?
Since you don't mention a need, other than a lack of religion; I naturally wonder if you are more religious than you think.
Prayers should be given freely but they should also be specific. I think you are on the right track or you would not have asked this.

Nothing is weired when it comes to prayer. I am not religious at all either but I am Christian. I pray at all times and thank God for his unfailing love. It does not take a special person to pray. God said come anyone to his thrown ,it is by grace and mercy that we come boldly before the thrown,no one is perfectly free from sin,but we are cleansed because of what God did by sending his Son Jesus, God does not see our sin because Jesus took care of that on the cross. He said I know man does not pray as he should pray, so when he prays I go to the Father in their behalf and I intercede for them.We speak to God from the heart, casting all our cares upon him because he care for us. It is not like God do not know us and what is on our minds,he wants to hear you; tell him as a loving father, just tell him be it good or bad, believe me God understands he knows our weakness and our strengths. He is our creator. I am sorry about your mom, your loss I am sure is overwhelming. But Jesus makes a promise that he will never live you nor forsake you ,he is only a breath away. Our Father in heaven.hallowed be your name, your kingdom come your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.Give us this day our daily bread.Forgive us our depts ;as we also have forgiven our deptors And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from all evil. Matthew 6:26 Jesus taught his followers how to pray and we often repeat this prayer. We also include a prayer for others and thank God for what he has done in our lives with praise and thanksgiving. Romans 8:26-27. We should pray in all accasions in good times as well as bad, without ceasing for ourselves and others. Jesus prayed for us John 17.Just start talking as you speak you began to feel the presence of a peace, one that you have never know so much so that you want to do it often. It is when one prays, you not only find out who you are but who God is daily with thanksgiving. Make your request know with prayer and supplication.God honors your prayer and efforts. I am sure he did the same with your mom. He hears you before you open your mouth,Oh how he loves you, nothing can separate his love from us.

Sure. I dont mind praying for you. Would it be possible for you to post your first name. If not I can pray for you with out it. After all the Lord knows who you are.

A little pray for you right now.

Dear God,
Please be with the writer who requested prayer. You know their needs. Drawn the person close to you Lord. The person claims to not be religious Lord. Father show yourself to this person. Draw the person close to you.
Bless the person Lord.
In Jesus holy name
Amen
