taff3sghost -- that's the saddest thing I've ever heard.

smithgiant -- my life might be incredibly different. It depends on which god's existence was proven, what he/she expected of me, and if I personally determined that this deity was worthy of my worship.

If there were no god, or even a concept of one, then one of two things would happen: everyone would "do their own thing" and the world would have collapsed in chaos long ago; or some sort of government would have developed to make rules to keep people in line. But that would happen only if some people realized the need for order, peace and regularity in society; and they would do that only if they had a concept of such notions. Where did such ideas come from? Evolutionists will say it slowly developed out of necessity; I say we were createed with such things, along with a conscience, which through training and use, helps us know right from wrong. (As one 8yr old said: "It's a teacher inside our brain.") If I didn't believe in a god, and there was no such thing as a conscience, I would feel answerable to no one, and do as I damn well wanted; and so would everyone else!

Considering we're communicating with an unethical aetheist, I can only assume a trick question here, or perhaps a justification for your own lack of belief in anything. That said, when God is believed or religions are accepted that are morally right, then crime and apathy are not prolific. When God and religion are questioned or attacked, then crime and apathy are at a high. It's statistically proven. So, your question is baseless and designed to support your aetheism. Child.

Our beliefs are who we are, whether you are a believer or not. We experience just as much pain, even death, when someone tries to take away our beliefs, as we would if someone tired to take a limb, appendage, or an organ from our bodies.

Those things that we believe that are true, constitute knowledge. Having knowledge is a good thing, but we tend to be correct about a small fraction of the things that are true.

None of us have much knowledge when you consider all of the truths in the universe that we do not yet know or believe.

Face it, you cannot prove most of what you believe. You can give arguments, even evidence; but in reality, you know that you may be wrong.

Christians don't have that problem with respect to their faith. They are secure in their faith, giving them a peace that surpasses all understanding. God bless you.

Paul said that if there were no life after this we "are of men most miserable".

That is because living the gospel without all the amazing blessings that come, would be terribly restrictive - almost like living the way Atheists believe that we live.

But the blessings of the gospel are sweet and liberating! Praise our Lord for all He does for us!

I'll answer your question, if you answer my question as to how much different would YOUR life would be if it was revealed to you that there WAS a God?

Could I assume that your answer would be that there would be little or no difference?

If so, then why does it matter what those that believe in a God would be affected? Why even bother asking the question you have?

Regards,

Believing there is a god is really nice because i know that i was created for a reason and that someone far more powerful than me is helping me along and is always there for me when i need him. it would affect me because i have a lot of family and personal problems and i probably would have killed myself by now because i wouldn't know that i have a purpose and that he doesn't want me dead. He helps me along.

it wouldn't exist in the first place - to say that man can exist apart from God is to say that a watch can exist without a watchmaker or a story can exist without a storyteller. we owe our being to the God in whose image we are made [see genesis 1:27]. our existence depends on God, whether we acknowledge his existence or not.

if there were no God my life would be worthless and hopeless. I would realise that nothing I do will last and that the sufferings we go through in this life are not worth the trouble.

Life will be stagnant and boring, without purpose and meaning. Everything seems nothing, without a point and senseless.
I probably live like a rock star, sex, drug and alcohol.
