Does anyone have neighbors who are friendly to you but when they have social gatherings at their house they invite the whole block and don't invite you? It feels like I'm back in high school again and it's always awkard for me when this happens. I make an effort to be friendly and considerate to all of my neighbors. I even invite them to my children's birthday parties, etc. Has anyone ever experienced something similiar to this? Should I confront them? Should I just "get over it"?

more details: they shouldn't have any reason to be upset with us (we are friendly and considerate neighbors). we have small talk whenever we see each other. none of the neighbors has asked us over. we have asked our neighbors over last year and they did come over to our party

Just ignore them. Who knows what is going on in their beady little brains.

You are probably something they are not.

Are you pretty? Thin? Blonde? Red-Headed? Big-Chested? Cool Car? Young? White, black, purple?

Who knows. It happens. Just ignore them.

We moved into a neighborhood where everyone else on the block had been there for 10+ years. They knew each other before kids etc. They were really cold and standoffish. I actually preferred not having them all up in our business, but it was harder for our kids.
You can either invite them over one couple at a time to try to get to know them better, or just carry on with your life and socialize with your own friends.
As to whether you should confront them, no, you shouldn't. If they don't act nicer after the confrontation, then you've got even more reason to be mad. If they do invite you, you'll always wonder if they're doing it out of guilt. It's a no win. Just chalk it up to "their loss".

Are you new to the area? Have they asked you before but you said no so they figure you aren't worth the time to ask? Do you have any idea if they are irked at you for some reason (any complaints on your end?)? Do you have any issues with any of the other neighbors? Do you get along with all of them?

How about inviting them all for a gathering at your house?

Actually my next door neighbor had a party for her child this weekend and didn`t invite my kids...She actually called me to tell me she wasn`t inviting my kids,,,how rude. She thought she`d call me to tell me to avoid hard feelings..
