I would like a two bedroom apartment but will not mind a studio or one bedroom. My job is in Ontario, but a commute doesn't bother me. I would like a city/location near resteraunts, shops, grocery stores, and ammenities. But again a short drive wouldn't bother me. I also don't mind living in LA, I just don't want to have a hassle when commuting to and from work.

I live in a town called riverside california. it about 20 min from ontario. i know there are some places here you could get for that price. at lease a one bedroom. they are luxury apartments or anything like that though. they are all kind of run down and cheap. but the area has everything you are looking for.

Well for first things Ontario isn't LA.

It's about an hour (plus or minus depending on traffic) drive east into San Bernardino County. You will be in the greater southern california area which includes some 15 million other people. It's going to be very hard to find even a studio for $900 a month in a decent area. Most rentals are going for about $1,200 a month and up. Still you might get lucky if you are willing to settle.

Good luck.

It's obvious you're not from around here.

1. You'll be lucky to find a single for $900, let alone anything larger. Let alone any place you'd want to live.

2. You will mind a commute by the second week you are here when you've figured out you can walk to work faster than you can drive there.

3. Only living in your car will make you close to all amenities. There is a reason they say no one walks in LA. Everything is so spread out, you have to drive.

I can only recommend you live as close you job as possible. That is the only way to tolerate the traffic, gas and insurance prices.

Everything in southern California is expensive. You may have to budget a bit more for rent that $900. Things you find in that range probably won't be in the best of areas.

Download a map of the area. Places you do not want to be are parts of Pomona, and Fontana / Rialto. (gang activity). And you certainly don't want to live in Los Angeles County, the daily commute would drive you crazy..
