I'm an 18yo female. I play D2 college soccer so I'm always active. I work out everyday (some times 2 or 3 times a day depending on my weight lifting and soccer schedule) I already eat pretty healthy. i only drink water and never eat fast food. My problem is I'll eat A LOT of what is healthy.

Right now I'm 5'6" and weigh 145lbs. I hold all my weight in my stomach area. So to all those who have done WW before do you think it will help me tone my body?

What's good about Weight Watchers is that it teaches portion control, which it sounds like you could benefit from. I'm sure you do have a lot of muscle though & you probably eat a lot because you're so active. I don't if you should lose weight because i haven't seen you. It's totally up to you. My roommate was successful on WW & has kept the weight off for 2 years.
Good luck!

I didn't try WW but I tried similar things. The problem is, their suggested diet was unnaceptibly unhealthy! If there is any way you can take a look at the suggested diet beforehand - maybe it's worth a try. The other problem I found with the plan - it made me think about food all day, thus making me even hungrier.

Like you, I'm pretty active (college dance team), and like you, not really overweight.

One consultation with a nutritionist helped me more than any other diet plans/efforts. She asked me about my typical day, analyzed when and in what form do I take my calories and suggested some easy changes. Of course, she kept exclaiming that I'm in a healthy weight range and I have unrealistic goals and so on... But she did give helpful advise., and I dropped those extra inches in the middle that kept annoying me.

If you are going to do WW, then I highly suggest attending the meetings. Doing it online is okay, especially if you have already tried the program and just need it to keep track, etc. The meetings teach you so many things - - - portion control, better substitutions, short/quick recipes, and peer support. You hear some great ideas from others who know what exercises might help you tone the area you want to work on.

I also suggest going to your local library and check out a copy of Covert Bailey's book, The Ultimate Fit or Fat. If your body is at a stand-still, he gives some useful suggestions on triggering the loss of the litte "extra" you have if you want to lose it. Good luck!

Sometimes people don't know what is healthy or how much is "a little." For instance, some people think french fries satisfy their vegetable requirements. My mom will invite me to dinner, serve a huge chicken and say that she is on a diet while scarfing down a chicken, saying that chicken is healthier than beef.
You are a soccer player, so you need calories. Eat egg whites and vegetables. A good rule for dieting is this: Pick a few foods that you don't like but that are full of the nutrients you need. When you are truly hungry, you will eat them. If you don't need to eat, you will not eat them. Eat as many brussel sprouts as you want, for instance. I eat tuna straight from the can, without mayo or anything, because I know the protein is good for me. After awhile, I've decided that I don't like mayo in my tuna. I've developed a taste for plain tuna. Hmm.

You are in a healthy zone for your height and weight. The weight that stores in your stomatch is more danagerous than the weight around your thighs because that is where all the vital organs are (heart, liver, kidneys & lungs).

Weight watchers is good. It is specfically for dieting ( cutting down calories intake), meeting up for support system and weighing in, and writing down what you eat. They go by a point system, how many points you are assigened to depends on your weight and height as well as your age. They also hevaily encourage exercise. It is a great way to diet, you have professionals, the support system, someone who is tracking your progress, and is cheap.

For tonning your stomach, find abdominal exercises that will help you with that. Abdominal Exercise tips:

I personally haven't done weight watchers before, but my mom has it lasted for a while and she lost pounds but after so long it get tiring and the plan gets boring. Honestly, you sound like your healthy enough, perhaps drink water to fill you up instead of always eateven if it is healthy, I'm not exactly sure, everyone diets differently.

You are in a healthy weight range for your height. But, if you are concerned about your food consumption, maybe you should make a conscious effort to eat foods that will keep you full longer. Oatmeal, bran cereal and other foods high in fiber make you feel full and may cut down on your cravings.

I know for a fact that weight watchers benefited a lot of people I know. they give a precise amount of food you can eat had it helps keep track of amount of food consumed.
