I guarantee you there is more than one. I thought my brother only had "one" in his house. We set traps, and ended up catching 6!
They have some long box like traps where when they go in, the door closes behind them, but doesn't snap them. Peanut butter works best and make sure you place them around the perimeters; they usually run along base boards, walls, etc.. Try V-Tech brand.

It's most likely not the first time it's been in there, that it's home with about a dozen or more other mice. Wild mice spread disease and make you very sick from the droppings they leave behind. There are humane traps where the mouse goes in, but they can't get out until released. We've tried them with no luck so far though. We get wild mice indoors in the winter due to living next to a field. Not even our cats will catch them, they just move over at the food dish for them (they've been seen doing this). The shed may need to be cleaned out of everything to discover if they have a nest in there or not. Then put moth balls in the shed to keep them out. Perodically they will need to be replaced each year.

You can buy a humane mouse trap from almost any department store at a fairly reasonable price. Sometimes you can even borrow or rent one from your local animal shelter.
Place the trap with the hole closest to the wall and something nice and tasty inside and the mouse will go in. I usually use peanut butter and maybe a few raisins. Check it everyday and when you do catch the mouse, take it FAR away from your house. Mice can travel up to 2 kms (roughly a mile) to get back "home."
Good luck!

Go to the hardware store or maybe Walmart and get a "Havahart" trap. It's the kind of trap that doesn't kill mice, just catches them. You set it in a dark corner where you've seen the mouse, and put food in one end. Then you lift the door on the other end, and prop it up on its prop. The mouse walks in to get the food and steps on a trigger platform which closes the door behind it.
For food try peanut butter, cheese, and peppermint candies. Good luck.

You can buy a mouse trap that you put a treat in and when it enters the little trap it closes and the mouse is trapped in the box. Then you can let it go outside.

Mice can also be scared out of there - work your way from the back making a lot of noise, and keep an eye on the front of the shed, shee mouse will no doubt slip out the front.

I see you have a soft heart and you don't want to kill this mouse. However, mice can spread hantavirus, which is deadly for humans, and where there is one mouse, there will be more.
It's best to get a mouse-trap, bait it with margarine or peanut butter and hope that it catches the mouse.

get a bird cage, or a box or something, put food in it, when the mouse goes in, close the lid fast and tight if possible. then take it out to a field or something and let it loose. it will take care of it self from there. just dont touch it.

Mice are destructive. For one thing, they get into things, and do damage by chewing also. Additionally, they leave their droppings all over the place. Is this what you want? Yet, you don't want to kill it? Give me a royal break! KILL IT!
