You will probably find that he will fit best into 3T. 2T and 24 months are not much different in size. 24 months will fit bigger in the bottom area to accommodate a diaper whereas a 2T has less room in the legs, bottom, and waist and the pant legs will generally be longer. If you are in an area where it is becoming warmer, I suggest you try one piece outfits in a size 3T since outfits with a waistband, such as shorts and a t-shirt will likely be a little big around his waist right now. ADDED: I have been buying baby clothes for a LONG time. The difference between 2T and 24 months is very minimal. Here is a quote from a website "Q: WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 24-MONTH TODDLER CLOTHING AND 2-T?

A: WE WENT TO TWO COMPANIES, GAP KIDS AND OSH-KOSH-B'GOSH TO GET YOUR ANSWER. BOTH COMPANIES AGREE THAT 24 MONTH CLOTHING IS FOR BABIES.

2-T IS FOR TWO YEAR OLD TODDLERS. THERE MAY BE SLIGHT DIFFERENCES IN WAIST SIZE AND INSEAM WITH 2-T BEING SLIGHTLY LARGER. HOWEVER THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN 2-T AND 24 MONTH IS MINIMAL." from this website http://www.nbc4.com/answerstoaskliz2000/1166041/detail.html. And from http://www.purpleturtlekids.com/size_chart.shtml "Many people want to know the difference between 24 months and 2 toddler. Infant clothes are designed with plenty of room for diapers. There will be snaps or zippers at the crotch to allow for easy diaper change. Toddler clothes need less room for a diaper. Therefore, they are narrower, and height becomes more important."

I know the feeling! My daughter is 16 months and fitting very nicely into 24 month clothing. Next size up is 2T, which in theory, should fit him until he is about 3 (3T). The older they get, the longer the clothes are SUPPOSED to fit, lol. For items like onesies, you can get extenders so they fit a little longer.

Go for 3T. The only difference between 2T and 24 months is the length of them.

2T, you would think that since 24 months is 2 they would be the same size roughly but they're not. So the next size up would be 2T

2t or 3t
some stores have this in the kids section rather than babys or in it's own section so you may have to look for it
