questions like:
"Look at the pretty flowers and trees and tell me how there isnt a God"
or
"If you see there is a watch you assume there is a watch maker right"

These questions seem so elementry to me and it seems an insult as if I have never pondered where trees and flowers came from.
Your thoughts please?

I would say offended was a bad choice of words.
Annoyed truely describes it.

I say "look at the volcanoes on Mars. Did god misplace them?"

I think it's a little childish or hippie-like to say that there is a God because we have pretty flowers and trees. All anyone has to do is plant a seed in dirt, water it, and it becomes a pretty plant in a few days.
However, the watch and watch maker statement is a little less insulting and childish. That one sort of makes me think. But claiming there is a God because watches, buildings and soda cans have creators barely relates to the complex creation of humans and our planet. The big bang is responsible for our planet and evolution is responsible for human's existence. That is much more realistic than saying a magical guy sitting on a cloud created everything by saying "let there be ______," and it happens.

It's a bigger insult to trees and flowers, if those people think that trees and flowers are so simple that someone could have intentionally "designed" them. Life is FAR too complex for that.

I don't worry about being offended, though. I'm an atheist: almost every waking moment someone is offending me. Gotta just live with that.

I think it's kind of stupid to compare a watch and nature. They are so different.

The argument doesn't hold water with me. Yeah I've looked at flowers and trees. They don't need us to interfere with their nature.

Yeah, it's annoying as hell.

Flowers are pretty to us because we're conditioned to think so, and because the collective human sense of aesthetics is pleased by them.

The watch metaphor is just plain retarded. Watches have no method for natural selection because they can't reproduce by themselves and they have no mechanism to mutate and improve.

Gah!!1!

The unpleasant part is having to respond to a question that assumes you're so thick you've never though of it before - which implies that the questioner is himself so abominably thick that he could assume something so elementary in the first place.

No not offended. Just depressed because in this day and age that kind of ignorance just shouldn't exist.
But it does.

ok, I am "kind" of agnostic. I believe that there is no absolute truth. Well it's kind of complicated.
But yes, it's very annoying when fanatics come at you with that.
The only sentence I would accept is the second one you are giving, THAT ONE IS A SMART ONE.

I don't get offended. I do get very annoyed at the overly simplistic reasoning, yes. I get annoyed that many of these people seem to lack logic and critical thinking skills.

annoyed, really really really annoyed.
i once tried to counter with ''so who made God''
but they came back with ''God is eternal, allpowerful, infinite merciful loving etc etc etc etc.....''
so i decided that there's no point. i usually say my religion is my choice or words to that effect,
but i've been tempted to say something like ''i'm a devil worshipper, i vivisect cats,(to cat lovers, i'm one of you, too. in fact, i own 4) i wear pentagons (i know pentagons don't have anything to do with devil worshipping, but just to play on their beliefs and misconceptions)and i pledged my eternal soul to the devil. now tell me that god loves me''
it's always sounded fun, but i haven't done it...yet...

*hopes you're happy with your choice on faith, more than that i don't care*

(p.s. i need 10 points.)

Actually, everything in nature is representative of a higher power - and I don't mean a humanlike figure that created all things.
The watch maker thing is just retarded
